Need denim jacket help - YouLookFab Forum

Long time no post, but I'm here hoping to get help on some jackets. I live a very casual life and denim jackets are a staple item. I'm 5'1" with an IT shape so jackets are a bit tricky. By the time they fit my shoulders, they can look big elsewhere.

Jacket A (pics 1 & 2) I own this one from American Eagle several years ago. Is this still current enough to keep? It's short so I only wear it with dresses.

Jacket B (pics 3-5) I own this as well, Guess jacket thrifted a few years back. It gives me the illusion of curves so I like the shape, but is it too dated to keep?

Jacket C (pics 6-9) Just bought this one and it's longer than I'm used to. It seems denim jackets of late have been getting longer. It has some stretch which I like. I'm wondering if I should size down? It's already a petite.

I appreciate any help! I don't mind keeping multiples for different purposes.

Great to see you! You are looking fab! I like the cropped AE one with the dress. Proportions look great. I like the Guess one with jeans. I think it looks a bit long with the dress. The last one looks great with the pants especially. Very similar to the Guess one...just a little more trendy because it's oversized (in a good way.) The Guess and the new one are very similar...I'd keep the one you like the best. Anything goes these days!

To echo Kelly Girl - anything goes these days. They all look really great, personally I like the fit of #2, but I think they all have a place. I have 2 blue denim jackets, one is more cropped like your #1 and more light weight and I usually wear that in mid-summer (although this year I did not, as a new Linen blazer got worn instead). I saw an over-sized denim jacket last year in a thrift store which I dithered about (precisely because I already have 2 in blue (and 1 in white), when I went back to get it, it was sold. I was initially disappointed, but afterwards glad, as I realised really did not need it.

I like the first and third jackets best and thin your first jacket dtiimhas another season but you would know best. #3 looks like a worthy replacement .

The ON jacket ( the last one ) looks good with pants/jeans but could be sized down for the dress/jacket combo. Of course all denim jackets have something special about them and look lovely on you!

I'm with kelly on the fit. They all look good and I'd consider keeping the ones you're not feeling right now in storage. Classic jackets like 1 and 2 don't date, but 3 does look trendier right now.

I think they all look good. Just a thought - would you think about dying one of them or embellishing one in some way?

I'm with the ladies. ALL smashing, and GREAT. Use #3 for pants and jeans. I like the roomy fit. (I have denim jackets in an assortment of fits too).

They are all great and look like they fit you well. I have a couple of denim jackets in different fits and washes and would buy another if I saw the right one.

A looks a little snug in the arms and shoulder so I might let it go? I like B fine with the dress, don't think it's long and agree that C might be best with pants.
