Navy Shoe Project: Sandals, K/R

Thanks SO much to Angie, I have figured out my essentials, and more importantly, the colors I prefer for essentials. Navy is the one I've got reversed: I own it mostly in statement pieces, which do not bring me joy as statements. I have dress pumps, vintage pumps, and vintage-style Keds wedges. (Also metallic blue sneakers, not quite navy.) I need flat/low sandals, flat/low closed shoes, booties, and tall boots.

I have three pair of sandals here. I like all three, they're all pretty comfortable, but they look very different. It's hard to choose between them! I want to wear them both with shorts and casual skirts/dresses, so there are pictures both with shorts and with the skirt I wore to work.

1-3. Crown Vintage gladiator sandals. The low wedge is comfortable, and the lacing can be snugged up enough to fit my feet and ankles. (Back zipper, yay!) They definitely make a statement. (No Find, since YLF isn't cooperating with the DSW website.)

4-6. Paprika hurache sandals. The sole has a reasonable amount of cushioning, and the heel part grips pretty well. They're a little loose in front, and the heel part may stretch out with time. If that happens, I won't be able to keep them on! Note that I will need to size up since my toes are hanging over the front a little; that may affect the fit overall. These are the most feminine/refined.

7-9. Blowfish fisherman sandals. These have a very contoured sole, and the straps, although not adjustable, fit my feet very well. They're very easy to move around in. A bit minimal, but I like the daintienss of the straps.

What looks best and is the most versatile? I really like all of these, and I *desperately* need navy sandals. If two were not available I'm sure I would be happy with the one left.

First off - do you ever look great in shorts! I'm envious ! I like the gladiators and the fisherman's, and don't care for the huaraches. I do admit that they have never been my favourite shoe though...so take that for what it's worth.

And - I'm with you on the navy hunt. I am perennially searching for any type of footwear in navy, and when I find something I like, I pretty well have to buy it - it's that rare a beast.

I like the gladiators, fisherman, and huaraches in that order. The gladiators seem the most dressy if that is something you are looking for.

Wow, thank you, Lisa! I do love shorts, so it's nice to know it's not a bad look. And yes, navy is remarkably tricky to find. I keep seeing navy clothing in stores, but most of the footwear is black, cognac, sky blue, and tomato.

Yes, Columbine, I'm uncertain on the huraches. They're the most typical of my usual style, and I like how they look on my feet. But I've had d'orsay flats stretch out totally in the heel before.

I like the fisherman sandals as looking best with either shorts or skirt/dress with the gladiators next. I also like the looks of those Angie posted. They look like they would go with anything from casual to dressy

I like all three, the gladiators look the most versitle, the hurache works best with the skirt, and the other pair the most casual.

The fisherman sandals are kind of retro looking which would fit nicely with your style. But the ones Angie posted are very cute, too. Here's a pair of navy Bernardo slip on sandals I've had my eyes on. I haven't tried them on, but their quality is very nice.

I like the gladiators the best. I agree they are the dressiest, but they still look great with the shorts, so they work on a casual basis. Need to see the ones Angie linked on, but they also look very versatile.

The fisherman are my #2 pick, but they are much more casual, if that is what you are looking for.

I have to admit I have a bit of a poison eye for

so those aren't my personal favorite. I really prefer the fisherman sandal and I like the option Angie linked.

I also quite like the ones Angie posted, but they are a bit dressier. Might actually consider them myself... Vaneli is a brand I've worn in the past and found comfortable, so a safe gamble for me. thakns Angie!

Just going to link to some navy sandals that I have, in case they are of interest. Both super comfy. Not sure if the Munro's are all still available, I know the Clarks are.

My order of likes is #1, #3 and then #2. Love Angie's pic also but for me those would be dressier (but I do lean toward casual). Agree, you look super cute in shorts!

I like the fisherman best- cute and interesting but also most versatile. Then the gladiators which look great and suit you, but I don't like as much with shorts as the fisherman. Then the middle ones- which don't fit and don't look interesting enough for our Ginger!
