Navy & Orange

I know that orange is predicted to be a huge colour this spring/summer - which I'm thrilled about. I love orange! I don't think you can feel sad at all when wearing such a happy colour! I'm also falling in love with navy which seems to be a good colour for me. This might seem like such a stupid question but can you wear orange and navy together?

Thanks for bringing this up! I was ready to ditch an orange silk top, but this has me re-thinking the matter as I have some navy blazers and lots of denim that would go with it.

Ooohhh CocoLion - please make sure to post pics if you try with the navy/denim. I'd love to see how it looks together. I'm already on the hunt for an orange blouse for spring.

Suz - are you sure you can't wear it? There are so many different shades of orange there might be one that suits you. What about navy on top and an orange skirt or skinnies? That way it's not next to your face.

ABsolutely! For summer/spring add a pop of white - brilliant. I have a Jcrew orange and navy striped s/s sweater (I think Aida has the long sleeve version). Blue and Orange are opposite on the color wheel so they "work" together beautifully. I'm also happy about Orange making a resurgence. It's a happy color to me and I'm constantly drawn to it in all forms - corals, burnt oranges, golden oranges and good old Orange orange (not quite safety orange)

Definitely orange and navy / denim. Orange also works with all shades of gray, and lots of browns and taupes. If you're color bold, with plum, teal, green, or pink.

The one hesitation I'd have about orange and navy is that it's a rare person who looks good in both colors. I'm great in orange but navy washes me out and makes me look ill. So if you look really good in navy (cooler undertones in your skin), make navy the dominant color and use orange as an accent that's not too close to your face.
