Hello Fabbers! Sorry I've been missing for a while; I have gotten obsessed with a new hobby, crochet. But I made time to shop the NAS in the wee hours of the morning nonetheless (it helped that I'm currently on vacation in Hawaii so I could start at 9PM). Here is my first (edited) pass, ordering all of my can't-miss items. In the past I haven't purchased a ton at NAS, except in 2013 when I was able to shop the SF flagship store. But this year I found both lots to love and enough disposable income to consider splurging on "the good stuff."
1) Paige Verdugo ankle skinnies in aubergine - I think these were in the sale a few years ago, at least a similar color, and I regretted not buying them because I found it impossible to find that color again. A second chance now! Paige fits me best at the low end of my weight range, which I'm at right now.
2) STS Blue denim gaucho pants - not an NAS item, but I had tried these before in my usual size (too large) and the rise is lower (good) than the similar Chelsea28 denim wide-leg crops in the sale. Still concerned that the length is too long, and unalterable, but I've ordered two smaller sizes to try. I wear denim 6-7 days a week for half the year so there's always room for another pair.
3) Halogen lace detail sweater - really digging the navy/black pairing and the delicate lace. Could be great with a flippy black Kit & Ace mini-skirt that I have trouble making outfits with.
4) Vince Camuto floral scuba dress - I don't really need more dresses, but I really love the print on this one and it's machine dryable with pockets. Going to see how the fit is in a regular size 2, the smallest size available (I tend to prefer 0P or 2P in VC clothing), and whether I could dress it down for work.
5) Michael Kors asymmetrical trench coat - Love the asymmetrical opening and the COLOR. Petite sizing, plus water-resistant which my CM toffee trench is not. The last time I traveled to Seattle I really struggled for a dressy water-resistant topper; this would replace my worn-out and heavy Boden mac.
6) Continuing to refresh my core bra capsule with another of my favorite style, the Natori Feathers. I'm sad that this year the classic nude color is excluded from the sale, but I picked up an intriguing grey-blue colorway instead.
7) Vince Camuto Earina perforated loafer flats - red! perforated! pointed toe! loafer! Unfortunately my feet have found VC shoes very uncomfortable in the past, but I still ordered 2 sizes and am crossing my fingers because I adore the style.
8) UGG Gradie high top leather sneakers - kind of a wildcard purchase but a (sportier) direction I've been contemplating for a while. Also trying two sizes because my size tends to sell out fast. I don't love the white sole but this is something I really need to try in-person to see if it will work.
9) Wildcard, ordered in the last hour of my triple points day after reading a blogger review: James Perse double breasted blazer/sweatshirt jacket in black. I've tried so many cheaper knit jackets and they always have huge draped labels or look like the fabric will pill... This price point is more than I'd normally consider spending on a knit, even on sale, but I can see it getting tons of wear in my climate.
If all that isn't enough--stay tuned for another post of the things I edited out because I no longer live in a 4-season climate. This year's NAS is apparently right up my alley...
