NAS success - YouLookFab Forum

Received my order this afternoon. Will post pics when I get a chance, especially of the items I'm on the fence about, but meanwhile, I'm happy!!!!!

Two items are definite keepers:

1) The Tina Turk skirt (grey, black, white pattern ... ponte knit... pencil shape).

Fits me like a glove. Gorgeous. And so comfy, because of the stretch. My mind is going a mile a minute thinking about the potential for this skirt! It is longer on me than it is on Angie (and San too? I know someone else has this... ). In the pic on the web site it looks like it is supposed to be above the knee; on me it is at the low knee, if that makes sense. I am liking the longer look. I will take pics for everyone's opinions on whether to have it hem.

Adding more pencil skirts was high on my list.... so I'm thrilled!!!!

QUESTION: do all Tina Turk pencil skirts fit about the same? (Because if they do... )

2. Botkier purse... don't choke on the price :-Q

I have always loved this brand, but balked at the price. I figured NAS is a good reason to splurge, I'm getting it at a discount, etc. I told myself when I ordered, if I only ended up with this purse, I'd be happy. And I am over the mooooonnnnn... this purse is scrumptious!!!
I have it by my side right now and I can't stop petting it. Hee hee. And, it is the right size for petite me. And, the color is yummy. And, I love the shape. And, the hardware is bronze. And, well... it's just perfect!

Justification for the price: This is how much we have saved this summer, by not turning on our AC yet!!! Can you believe that???? Eek! Yeah for rain.

Oh, yeah... and my birthday is coming up, and I always buy myself a splurge gift to my own self.

Back down off the moon.....

I'm guessing the few other items will end up going back. I plan to try them on again, take pics, etc, but I'm not as in instantly love with them as I am with the two items above.

Shiny---I love that skirt! Angie, do you think it would be long enough on me?

I can see it with tall boots and black tights --I love an artsy look and I think it is artsy and classic at the same time.

Good job on the bag---that is exactly what Angie says we should do during the NAS. Investment piece at a better price.

When I went to the NAS appt, there was only one item that really lit me up, and that was this purse:

It is gorgeous in person, has a really wonderful feel to it (touch is such a big part of how I respond and choose clothing and accessories). But I wavered then, because of the color. Now looking online, I see there are choices. So I am debating about this purse.... but I don't know what color I would buy if I did go for it....

KILLER bag. One of my clients purchased it yesterday. It’s well worth the money. It’s an investment. Such a nice size. This is the one to keep. Hands down.

I adore Botkier bags. The leather is so nice. I think you've picked a great investment piece shiny!

With the croc bag, I like the purple. Then again, I am a purple fan! I'd get a color that fills a hole in your bag wardrobe. The bag has a great vintage vibe!

Brahmin bags are great and I do see the retro vibe in this one. The only potential downside is the gold hardware/Brahmin tag -- It's hard to see in the photos but usually it's gold. How do you feel about that?

I have that skirt; it is FABULOUS. We are going to get tons of wear out of it. The fabric and stretch, OMG. Unreal.

The bag is awesome as well. Not to worry, I won't hound you on the cost; my friend works for Coach so I have gotten a couple of bags at about that price. Of course, their real price was twice that and I got her 50% off discount, so it felt like the deal you got on this.

Hmm, the Botkier is purple so I don't think I'd get the Rose one - although it isn't quite a purple, is it? It is a pretty color.

I think the walnut or the raisin have the most appeal for some reason. And I think it was the raisin that I saw at NAS in person, but I can't be sure.

The black would also be quite handy. I have a the black furla, but it would be nice to have a smaller bag every now and then. I don't mind the gold too much, since it's not a lot, and from what I'm seeing, gold is coming into fashion and is going to be strong this fall.

The raisin, OTOH, would be a good replacement for the chocolate brown suede bag I had to toss because it broke. No, I didn't use that bag as much as the others, but sometimes you need a brown bag. What I like about the raisin is that it could stand-in for a black bag OR a brown bag. Does that make sense?
