wow, looks like the dress was a big hit! Angie's description of it is quite correct--reading the description made me want to buy the dress even though it looked more formal than what I wanted:
"A comfy dress on a curvier figure. Stretchy and soft, but not sloppy. Fits slightly pear shaped body types very well. Length is easy to alter for petites. I like how spaced the floral pattern is. Different."
The dress is very comfy, I almost didn't want to take it off. The rare sheath dress on me that doesn't feel constricting. I am slightly pear shaped, but the dress was cut to accommodate that. It might not work as well on ITs or apple shapes who have less to fill out the bottom half. I am petite but feel no need to get the dress length altered, it hits just below knee, and doesn't feel significantly different length-wise on me than on the model (top of knee).
Regarding the gilet--what should I do about the length? It is too long on me, I think--it would stick out of coats and things. You can already see that it is longer than this "midi-length" dress.
Ummlila: yes, I'm not sure I'd want to go up in size beyond this because of upper body fit.
Rachylou: glad you like the dress on me! Yes, it's a heavier wool and I was surprised too by that when I found it in store. I have made my peace with that, now it's just a question of whether it will be versatile enough for me.
Gradfashionista: Great suggestion, though I don't have either one of those items...I should get a denim jacket one of these days.
Colette: you should get it--I think it will work well on you, too! We can be dress twins. It runs pretty much TTS.
Nomadicliz: that is probably how I'll try to dress it down!
Suz: yes, let's be dress and gilet twins!
Angie: your description was what made order this dress. It sounded like the rare sheath that would on me without sacrificing comfort What do you think of the length of the gilet?
Smittie: I forgot to post a picture, but it's deeply cut underneath the arm, to the point a bit of my bra shows if I'm not careful. Not a dealbreaker but a bit odd.
