I thought you all might like some reviews of the other items I tried or considered but decided not to get during my session at NAS.

Clothes
Eileen Fisher boxy bateau neck sweater, in ecru. It was so soft, and I liked the neutral-flecked yarn and the textured knit. I've had (and still have) some of this bateau neck from EF before, and I find it a little drafty for me. Also, I felt the color was a tad warm for me.
Joie "Berit" print open-front cardigan. I picked this one out as soon as I saw the catalog. So, so beautiful on the model, and so big and shapeless on me (in the XS). Looked like a housecoat, though it felt divine. Frankly, I was a bit glad to save the money.
Classiques Entier funnel neck sleeveless merino wool sweater. Another of my picks from the catalog. I like the idea of these longer sweater vests with high necks. They look fresh and versatile to me. This funnel neck did not work for my rather short neck (I suspected that might be the case--no big surprise). The knit is surprisingly soft, yet substantial. Despite the thickness of the knit, though, there was a bit of wrinkling on the tail of the sweater, and I wondered if it might look like that most of the time, after sitting on it.
BP sleeveless turtleneck sweater. Well, this would have been a great way to save a bunch of money on the knit pullover vest look! This neck is softer and falls a little lower, so it worked for me. The knit is soft and cozy, not thin and flimsy as I thought it looked online. However, the knit isn't substantial enough to hold its shape, and it looked a bit rumpled in back, so I reluctantly passed.
Halogen long merino wool blend sweater vest. Bonus: you could wear this vest buttoned up as a long jumper if you wanted to! The ribbed knit was more body-hugging than I wanted. Admittedly, I was trying the XS, the smaller of my two usual sizes. Perhaps the S would have been better. But the color was not that great on me. I really wanted charcoal, and I ended up getting the Caslon open-weave long vest instead.
Vince stretch cotton boyfriend trousers. Yes, I have olive chinos, and I had some that I got rid of recently. And I recently bought and returned a pair by Caslon because the color was too yellow and the calves too tight. I always have my eye out for the perfect slouchy but not baggy pair in a shade of olive that works for me. This color is a nice, dusty shade that I like. The size 4 fit me well. But I wasn't wowed, and for $130 chinos, I need to be really wowed. Even now, as I type, I'm thinking, Maybe I should go back and try them again; a key neutral in a basic style can be a workhorse. . . . I need to keep reminding myself that I have other olive pants in styles that work better for me. And I have plenty of workhorses in my stable.
Pleione bell cuff high-low blouse. A considerable disappointment. I have two short-sleeved Pleione blouses in this fabric that are pretty much my ideal woven t-shirts--super comfy but refined looking. I even copied the style to make one out of a print silk. So: I love the shape of this blouse, the fabric, two or three of the colors it's offered in, those beautiful flared cuffs, not to mention the price! The blouse looked great on me. When I would go to reach forward, though, the sleeves would stick on my lower arms, and they would bind even worse if I tried to reach above my armpits. I mean, this is a standing-straight-still-only blouse for me. The lower sleeves are cut way too narrow. My forearms are average sized--not stick thin, but not hefty, either. Really, I don't know who this blouse is going to work for, darn it!

Footwear
Paul Green "Julia" d'Orsay pump. I'm a big fan of Paul Green and the d'Orsay style. I've tried on the higher-heeled version of this shoe that was out this past season, and I liked how it felt. I didn't think I would wear it, though. Now, the lower-heeled version offered here was more appealing--I could envision getting more wear out of it. However, the toe box felt too narrow, in my usual Paul Green size, and in a size up. For my slightly wide foot, it didn't have the absolute comfort that I value so highly in my other Paul Green styles.

AGL "Ella" block heel bootie. I have so many pairs of booties, what do I need with another?? I had my eye out for a higher-shank, narrow-opening style, with cropped pants and jeans in mind. This one is cute, I liked the soft, neutral shade of gray, the leather is thick but soft, and I found the stitching around the sole attractive and distinctive. The opening was a little too tight for me and cut into the front of my ankle when I walked. (I do not have dainty ankles, so this can be a sticking point for me with booties.)

Donald J. Pliner "Edyn" block heel bootie. Oh, so gorgeous. I love the pointy toe, the butter-soft leather. The fit was perfect, the heel a comfortable height for all-day wear. The high shank was supple enough to move with me as I walked, without cutting into my ankle. However, re: my note above about having lots of great booties already, I went with the far less expensive Steve Madden "Pistol," which gives me a very, very similar look. It is slightly stiffer at the top, but not unwearably so, and while the Pliners were slightly more comfortable due to the heel to sole pitch, the Maddens were very close in comfort. The differences in feel were slight enough not to warrant the price difference, in my book. Had I not compared the Maddens to the Pliners, I would have gone home with the Maddens anyway. So I'm excited to get a look that I love for so much less money (for once)!

Aquatalia "Taylor" weatherproof bootie. One of these days, I'll get some Aquatalia weatherproof booties. Not this year. I seriously don't need them and tried them on just to see how they looked and felt on. These are very pretty, with a stable, comfortable block heel that also looks super stylish and current. I like the narrow, taller shaft, and the split in the back, combined with the soft, supple suede, makes it comfortable to walk in (no grabbing at the front of the ankle for me). The suede has a texture that adds interest, and the color is a nice, neutral shade of gray--not too blue or brown.

Pikolinos "Andorra" water-resistent bootie. Very pretty booties, and very comfortable. The chunky sole will be nice for city walking and snowy sidewalks. The leather is thick but soft feeling, the ankle opening a bit wider than the other styles I tried, so it didn't bother the front of my ankle when I walked. The toe cap is a nice refined addition to this style, and the winey red color is gorgeous. I'm not a fan of gold hardware, so I would have preferred something more subtle, especially on a casual style like this one. Ultimately, I felt the Madden boot was more useful for the cropped-pant looks I'm envisioning. The website says to size up in this bootie, but I didn't find that to be the case for me. I'm usually a 37.5 in European sizes, and so I sometimes wear a 37 and sometimes 38; the 37 felt good in this one.

eta: Oops, forgot this one in my original post--

Ecco "Alicante" bootie. These are very comfortable--it almost doesn't feel like a heel, very balanced and easy to walk in. I took the smaller of my two Euro sizes, and it felt snug but comfortable. The larger size slipped on my heel. I seriously considered this bootie, because I have a pair of Donald Pliners in brown metallic leather with a similar look, and I like them a lot. I thought a gray pair would be nice to have. However, in reality I don't have that much call for this style, and the gray is a little too light and bluish for my liking. The burgundy looks gorgeous online, though!--I didn't see it in person.

Handbags
I do not need handbags. But I could possibly use a cross-body or clutch style for occasions when I don't want or need to carry all of my stuff around.

Rebecca Minkoff "Avery" cross-body bag. I like the look of this style. It's a little bit small for my purposes--I want to be able to carry my wallet, sunglasses, lipstick, and phone. That would be a tall order for this little bag. If I were going to get one, I think I would prefer leather, rather than the nubuck that is featured in the sale. Despite the name "denim" for this shade of blue, it looks a bit pastel to me. Pretty, but not what I'm after.
Vince Camuto small "Lizel" convertible cross-body bag. I liked this bag less in person than I did online. It is a little too shiny for me, and I felt the leather didn't look as rich as I expected. I think the color was a little bit muted, perhaps. Also, it has two zippered compartments, each of which seems quite thin and tiny. Overall, it has a little dressier vibe than what I want.
Rebecca Minkoff dog clip saddle bag. I love this bag and the black hardware. The bag is roomier than I expected, given it's 8" x 8" dimensions. It would fit my wallet, sunglasses, lipstick, and phone pretty nicely. I'm not committed to leaving this bag behind. I just couldn't really justify the purchase to myself. It is super cute. Would I get the ivory or black? Maybe the black would be a nice long-term option for when I really want an unobtrusive but chic little non-dressy bag.

And that's it! Hope some of you find my reviews helpful!
