As one of the lucky ones who reside in Seattle - home of Nordies and home of Angie - I had a very fun morning at NAS at the flagship store together with Angie and two other YLF members. It was a great few hours: the shopping hormones were raging, we saw tons of lovely fall clothes, tried on a lot of pieces, and came home with some goodies. For me the sale was a little disappointing in that (as Angie had already alerted us) the boot and coat selection was rather poor, and those happen to be two of my top four fall items to buy. But it still was very fun and I love the items I came home with. The details:

I bought a very cute Mac & Jack black ruffled little jacket, which I didn't exactly "need" but which was extremely "me" and it makes me happy just to look at it. It also was a great deal at $59 so I don’t really feel much guilt about the indulgency… http://s291.photobucket.com/al.....uly052.jpg

I also got a cobalt blue summer top, and honestly I don't even know if it was part of the sale, but I loved the cut and the color and knew I would get a lot of wear out of it so I bought it without a second thought: http://i291.photobucket.com/al.....uly046.jpg

I also got new tights and bras, which aren't as fun to show off but I was very happy to haul them home!

I tried the Cookie Johnson jeans and liked the style a lot, but they weren't stellar on my bod. I did instead buy but in the end decided to return a pair of black David Kahns that looked real good but were just a little too snug and a little too low in the rise. I liked them when I was standing, but once I wore them for half an hour sitting down at home, I knew they had go back. Bad muffin top squeeze… Finding great jeans is one of my major fall must-haves and I hadn't really counted on it to happen during NAS, so I'm okay with continuing the search and hope to find something by September.

I also wanted to find a fall/winter dress, and didn't come home with one, though I quite liked some of the NAS offerings. In the end, I ordered one online that I didn't see in the store: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....0&P=1
I hope it works, and if not, I'll continue to look for either a dress or a "jumper" (something to wear over a button down or long sleeve tee) in a blue or pink/fuchsia color.

I did buy but will likely return a more summery (and spring) dress that I liked a lot and got very positive feedback on from Angie and the other ladies. Here it is: http://i291.photobucket.com/al.....uly043.jpg The colors are real pretty and bright. Even though I like it a lot I’m almost sure that I’ll return it, just because I’d rather spend this money on a fall dress and it would be too extravagant at this point to buy a summer dress I wasn’t after.

As I said initially, I found the boots disappointing - too much Western style for my taste. And the coats were worse; I was looking for a snazzy non-black coat but found the offerings a little too "safe" overall. I already have a great basic charcoal coat, so I'm hoping to find something in a brighter and funkier color/pattern/cut eventually. I did see a lot of great leather jackets/coats/vest, and it was kinda hard to resist, but it really wasn't a priority and so I was disciplined and passed by those racks...

Laurel and JuliJuli found some BEAUTIFUL goodies of their own, which I hope they'll model for YLF. I actually took my camera with me and then completely forgot to take pictures in all that excitement, sorry... It was so wonderful to shop with Angie and benefit from her quick expert assessment. I would have come home with so many more items, but less great and workable ones, without her guidance if I had shopped on my own!!

Looking forward to catching up on everyone else’s NAS stories and pictures…
