One of my NAS goals was to replace a 10 year old raincoat that had grown shabby.

I tried the Barbour NAS navy raincoat, and found that the sizing was WAY off; the US 8/UK 12 was more like US 12 or 14, although that is helpful information if you happen to be needing that size. (There were no reviews when I bought it, and there are now, which state the same thing.) The quality was lovely.

And I tried the Avec Les Filles raincoat with removable hood, and the cute snaps along the sides. Not bad, but not a 10 out of 10, which was my goal. (I didn't go the the Avec Les Filles raincoat that Angie had endorsed due to the zipper at the sleeve--I have short arms and a zipper there makes sleeve alteration a Big Problem.

Finally, I tried the Cole Haan raincoat pictured below, and I have a keeper. It has a casing with ties that create a cute bow in the back, and which give shape and interest. This raincoat is very nicely made (if all you need is a single layer to keep the wet off, which is all I do need in my climate) and the edges of the seams are finished in a contrasting binding, a nice touch. It comes in multiple colors but black works best for my life. I will note that I read the reviews, and as I result, I ordered a Petite Large, which was the right call. (For reference, I'm consistently an 8P in a dress, and a Petite small in a top, so this did represent a sizing up.) And even in petite, the sleeves are, as expected, quite long for me, but that will be an especially easy fix as there isn't any sleeve detail that complicates things.

Those of you are are very petite might take note--that this garment runs small may well make it work nicely for you.
