NAS purchases - Kari - YouLookFab Forum

This is a week overdue, but I wanted to share what I ended up with from my very first Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I tried on a ton of trousers/dress pants including Classiques Entier and Semantiks, but unfortunately didn't find any that hit the mark on my body.
I tried the CJ by Cookie Johnson jeans, which were obviously very high-quality denim, but they didn't look as wonderful on my thighs and bum as I'd hoped (enough to justify the price.)

However, I ended up coming home with a pair of JAG bootcut jeans. If they wear well, I could see them becoming my new "staple" jean. They make me look and feel great, and the waistband has just enough stretch that I don't get any gaping at the back OR muffin top at the sides (I usually end up with one or the other due to my weird hips.) I'm also happy that this is a lower-priced brand that I've seen marked down at the Nordstrom Rack, so I'll keep my eye out in fall or winter if I decide to pick up a second pair.

I also ended up taking home the Classiques Entier drape-neck sheath dress, which Kristen (and I think Dani, too?) got. It REALLY skims over my problem areas and is something I could dress up or down. My mom's verdict was "You NEED this dress."

(I tried other NAS dresses including the Adrianna Papell shift dress that Niva ended up with as well as some Calvin Klein dresses, but the fit wasn't perfect on me - I was being pretty picky.)

Thank you all very much! My mom does have a good style sense. She and I know each other's body types & preferences very well, and she is my favorite shopping buddy. I forgot to mention it, but I also ended up with the JAG jeans primarily because she has a pair that makes her look fantastic, and when I tried them they had the same effect on my similar body.

I am so thrilled about the new purchases and can't wait to wear them in the fall (or in cooler weather.)

Yay, Jag jeans are great and I believe they are locally made here in Auburn. I do have some myself. The length is not quite long enough for me though at my hieght of 5'8". Do you find that to be the case?

Kari, I just picked up the Jag jeans today thanks to your recommendation and love them! Thanks! Mine seem plenty long (I'm 5'6'') but I'm going to hold off on hemming them until I find shoes for fall. Not an easy mission with my narrow feet!

San, I have the exact opposite problem. I'm 5'5" and a larger size than you so my pants are on the long side. I *think* that I may need to hem mine 1/2" simply to wear heels without having the jeans drag on the ground, but they are still drip-drying after their first wash so we'll see. If I had wanted to wear them with flats, I'd need to take off a good 3" or so.

Debora, that's awesome that they worked for you too! I hadn't heard about this brand at all until I saw my mom wearing them earlier this year, and she liked them enough that she bought two more pairs at NAS. I'm hoping that I'll like mine just as much.
