NAS Preselections 2016

My 10 days of annual mayhem is almost here. NAS preselections start tomorrow for Level #4 card holders, and I will be working VERY long hours with clients at the Seattle flagship Nordstrom. I will be able to come up for air on Friday night July 22 at the YLF gathering. Great timing.

I will be very scarce on the forum until July 23, but WILL chime in on the NAS section here to help out and answer questions about NAS merchandise. Top pick lists for all go out just after midnight on July 22 as usual.

Please post all your NAS threads in the correct "Anniversary Sale" section of the forum so that they do not overwhelm the main forum. That way people who do not want to participate in the NAS do not need to be subjected to overwhelming NAS talk.

I'm very excited to see what my clients will come home with and what I will come home with. It's quite the adrenalin rush, a major Seattle event, and my favourite sale of the year. A "how to" NAS blog post goes out tomorrow morning, which you might find helpful.

As tiring as this time of year is, I absolutely thrive on it. As long as I am well stocked in the tea and snack department, insulated against arctic air-conditioning, and have happy feet - I can go on forever.

I am super excited for NAS this year! I have saved up for a couple of big ticket items (light color high shaft booties, wool coat, dark leather bag) and I hope I find something I like.

Ha! Angie, I went to Yin yesterday. Might need a second one this week.

I've signed up for a NAS debit card so will be ordering the Trina Turk officer coat later this week ... that is, diving into NAS without your guidance on selections. That does make me feel a bit uncertain, I have to say!!! We shall see.

I'm not sure why NAS excites me so much because 1) I live in a warm climate 2) I returned most of what I bought last year and 3) the quality of what I kept wasn't all great. The catalog didn't get me too excited, but I do like looking at the online selection when it goes live.

I just found it fun to peruse the lists of picks and what forum members chose. Other bloggers all seemed to pick the same 10 things. Angie picked higher quality and it was actually based on fabrication and fit. Imagine. Plus, seeing things on others was enjoyable to me.

This year I plan to be strategic. Try to stick to the more quality brands. I've thought of my wardrobe holes and have a list. But since I'm not near a Nordstroms, I am allowing myself some leeway to try on what I may love but didn't know I needed. And return what doesn't work.

I'm getting really excited, too! I can't remember what level I'm at now...will have to check. I don't think I get access until the 14th.

Really looking forward to this adventure. I have to be mindful because with the exchange rate (and duties) prices are high...but I really loved the items I bought and kept last year.

Have fun! I never shop NAS - there's no Nordies anywhere close to here and I can't think about fall when it's 100 degrees out. Plus, in contrast to the majority of the forum, I love summer and I'm never eager for it to end. However, I really enjoy seeing what others are buying/interested in.

I'm so excited for this sale! Last year was my first NAS and it coincided with a massive wardrobe overhaul due to weight loss. I bought a lot and some of the pieces were amazing finds, like a Vince sweater and my favorite leather jacket. Angie's picks (both of those and more) were so helpful I'm champing at the bit this year waiting to see what she picks.

As my small Nordstrom is often quiet at the end of the level four shopping day, I'm going over around 8pm to see what I can see by peeking in. Some of the departments let me in (to look, not shop) last year, some did not.

I'm working with a SA for the first time this year. After I ordered a crazy amount that I returned last year, they told me the personal stylist could get the clothes faster. My clothes have to be ordered because when they expanded my store they eliminated my size-go figure. I may look online at midnight. I also may drive to a larger store to see if anything catches my eye-in person can make a difference. That would not be on the 14th, however.

I am bummed because I look forward to purchasing something from Alexis Bittar each year - I've only been shopping NAS for a few years - but from what I understand Nordstrom is not carrying that line anymore.

I just posted on the other thread...I had so much fun last year and really loved what I bought. Only one mistake, which I returned after awhile, so it was very successful shopping. So successful that I filled all the holes I had identified, which leaves me with quite the puzzle.

What do you buy when you don't need anything and want to buy anyway?! The wise thing would be to sit it out, but I want to have some fun! Maybe a little less fun than last year though.

There's nothing like the mention of NAS to pull me away from work long enough to say I'm excited too! I leave for vacation on Thursday and I plan to start shopping at the airport

I love your enthusiasm, Angie! I used to feel that way working in retail during busy sale times; it was chaotic but exhilarating too. And even more fun in your position!

Fall clothes are my favorite and I am usually ready to start thinking about them by now. But I am much happier with my summer wardrobe this year and I'm still enjoying it. So I don't have a list of needs/wants at this point...I guess I'm open to suggestions which could get me in trouble as I am a lemming and often tempted by not just Angie's picks but what everyone else finds too!

Happy shopping, everyone...I can't wait to see some goodies!
