NAS: Picking Up the Pieces...(with bonus purchases from Express)

Okay...it's no secret that I crapped out in the shoe dept. Still, I managed to get a few things to help me get my F/W wardrobe started. I was too pooped to put it all on again. So, I laid it out on my bed just for show. Let me know what you think:

It's just a start for the season. I still need a trench, dresses, pants, shoes, tops, and a few accessories.

If any of this stuff seems hideous to you guys, let me know. Don't let me go into the season looking "through." I appreciate it! LOL.

Nothing hideous here!! WOW, you got yourself some gorgeous pieces Lesley!! I love that drapey grey cardigan and cannot wait to see how you'll be sporting the leather moto vest.

Sorry to hear about the shoes, but I'm sure you'll find a killer pair later in the season.

Hideous? Nuh uh. Everything is fab, and I'm so glad you got the moto vest. That will be a great look on you. The Splendid cardigan is really special too; I do love me some Splendid!

It's all fabulous, Lesley! I can't wait to see you wearing it all. The MJ bag is the same one I was considering in red. It is awesome. I already had a red bag but I can enjoy this one on you.

I really like the moto vest and think it will look great on you. The other pieces look good too and you can definitely carry off the longer sweater look!

I think I'll have to go see if they have the vest at our local Express and although I'm not sure it would work for me I'm inspired by all the amazing moto vest looks flying around on this site.

I really like the pieces that I picked. I really tried to be discerning and select things that were practical, functional, interesting, true to my personal style, and appropriate for my lifestyle and climate. I decided to focus on everyday, casual, MOTG type stuff. Plus, my other retail haunts have yet to unveil their F/W merchandise. Gotta spread the love ya know...

Items that I put back included: the black/charcoal sheath dress that Angie and San got and William Rast skinnies in black (not black-black, but more washed out).

Patience: I looked at the other colors of the MBMJ satchel. I thought that the red one was too bright/loud for me. A tomato red, bordeaux, or some other dark, rich red would have been better IMO. The purple one was really loud too. I think that a plum, wine, or grape color would have been better IMO. The black one was just blah. The gray bag wasn't on display at our stores, however the wallet was. I think that the gray bag would be a nice one too. I just didn't want a gray bag. I love the cognac. It's such a rich, versatile color.

So, for those who own the Express faux leather vest, I am your twin, triplet, quad, quint, chocolate alter ego, etc. LOL.

For those who are eyeing the Express vest, it comes in black and dove(?) gray. It costs $88, looks great IRL, has minimal hardware, and it's a great vegan option, IMO. They were flying out of the store when Kyle and I tried them on. I wouldn't be surprised if this one got a write up in Lucky or something.

I'll sing the praises of Express in another thread...

Lesley, I LOVE everything on you, every last one of those pieces. You all have such fantastic taste, picking amazing pieces at the NAS. If I have to pick a favourite, it would be the splendid cardigan - you look so svelte and chic (not that you don't otherwise too :-D)
