Warning: I ordered A LOT of stuff today... Used my Triple Points Day so I'm trying to front-load ordering anything that I want to try on. I have a Nordstrom store 10 minutes from my house but it's a very small store (convenient for returns though).

1) First, I usually refresh my bra wardrobe at NAS by purchasing another Feathers bra. I have probably too many of them by now and should retire some of the years-old ones. They have a nice nude-ish color in the sale this year so I knew I definitely wanted that. Meanwhile, I've been into bralettes lately for the comfort--I don't need much in the way of support--so I ordered a simple nude wireless bralette to try and a pretty black longline one that I plan to wear under a sheer black shirt.

2) Speaking of which, I know layering only a bra under a shirt THIS sheer (Hinge Ruffle Mesh Blouse) is a bit risque for most YLFers... I am under the average age demographic here but I still dress more conservatively than a lot of people my age. If it works out, I plan to wear this bralette/sheer shirt combo ONLY to nightclubs, where I feel a bit more daring. I guess I could wear the shirt day-to-day with a cami underneath, too, but honestly it's a bit too alluring for my normal non-clubbing style.

3) Repeat workhorses and/or assuaged regrets from last year's sale: I still regret returning the black James Perse blazer before styling it properly in try-ons. I haven't found anything to fill the put-together-casual black topper hole. So this year I ordered 2 sizes, to compare with a slightly looser fit. In the repeat workhorse category, I really loved last year's Trouve tunic sweater and was happy to see them bring back a similar version (slightly different neckline). I also threw in the Halogen cropped flares from last year, because I never got to try them on in my size... annoyed about the lack of front pockets though.

4) Athleisure: Zella cropped leggings because with my new hobby, figure skating, I've found that cropped leggings are better than full length. I have 3 Beyond Yoga exercise tanks already, could use another, and I love their cottony spacedye fabric. Then I threw in two wildcards, a cozy circle cardi and a floral bomber jacket; both styles tend to look sloppy on me, but maybe these will be the exceptions!

5) Footwear: I need a pair of lighter-colored flat booties, preferably with a fitted, higher ankle shaft. Really hoping that the Dolce Vita pair is comfy and narrow enough in the shaft. The Gentle Souls high top sneakers are another wildcard; I don't really wear sneakers because I dislike fussing with laces, but these are zip-entry only with a cool print and I always need all-day walking shoes.

6) At the end I threw in a few trendy impulse buys--step-hem cropped Mother jeans, a black jumpsuit. And the scallop-hem Halogen sweater, which isn't trendy but I wanted to see the shade of red in person and I don't intend on venturing in-store for long this year.

If all that excess wasn't enough, I also ordered a new blanket for the couch - but that's a replacement I've been meaning to make for a while now, so I'm crediting it towards the household budget rather than my shopping budget. I might still pick up some candles as gifts, but otherwise I am waiting impatiently for everything to arrive. Although I haven't looked too closely at my July budget totals (eek), I'm quite good at ruthlessly returning things--sometimes too ruthlessly, see point #3--so I will square the numbers after I've tried everything on.
