NAS order is taking a really long time

I don't mean that it's in transit...I mean I made the first of three orders on the 20th, and apart from one piece, none of it's even shipped out yet. Is this normal? I've never experienced such a delay with Nordstrom. All the items are supposedly available and my order was accepted.

I think sometimes they come from a store rather than a central warehouse, so those can take longer.

It's funny, all my orders (placed on 3 different days, the first during presale several days before the rest) all arrived on the same day. So I think there are definitely differences in processing time.

That might explain it. Thanks. But really, it's never taken half as long up till now (though this may be the first time I ordered during NAS, so could be completely different).

It does take longer during NAS.

I've found the shipping to be variable. Some items arrived very quickly, others took over a week. I placed an order on the 17th and it was only shipped yesterday.

I saw a note on the website yesterday that said shipping is taking longer due to high demands of NAS.

Ok, I got it, LOL! In the meantime 2 more items (from the first of the three orders) were just shipped out. It's going to take up to 10 days to get here. I'm trying to contain my impatience. : )

Tell me about it. I feel like NAS is stretching out foreeevvverrr as I wait for things to arrive/reorder different sizes, etc. I'm betting that many of the items on my wishlist that are out of stock are going to pop back after the sale ends once people get their items and return them.

Angie has it right - for an efficient NAS, you want to be the first appointment on the first day, have access to every item in every size, try on what you like and then take your clothes home and be done. But then I guess we shouldn't be surprised at Angie's shopping wisdom!

That's a shame, ladies. And odd. NAS orders are usually out in a couple of days. Inge - in Belgium - got hers chop-chop too.

Shopping the first day won't help across the board, as there is a contingent of web only and late-breaking items to be found on the website but not in stores.

I'm sorry to hear that. I actually told Angie how impressed I was with the super speedy delivery: my order was shipped on July, 21 and arrived on my doorstep (in Belgium) on July, 23. Much quicker than usual, I might add (in general regular Nordstrom orders take more time, so I think they are using a quicker delivery option for international NAS orders).

Wow, that's amazing Inge! Does Nordstrom use Borderfree to ship to Belgium? I ordered Tuesday (21st) and my order hasn't shipped yet.

Kerry, yes they do indeed use Borderfree (for NAS orders and other orders throughout the year). I am holding thumbs that your NAS goodies will arrive VERY soon now!

Just a heads up...one item from my first order didn't ship when everything else did, and I didn't hear anything about it for 10 days. When I called to see what was up I found out the item was backordered until the end of August. The weird thing was that I was never notified about this...not when I placed the order and not later. I decided to cancel it because it was just a curiosity anyway. But you might want to check on yours just in case.
