I logged into Nordstrom's site first thing this morning to check how much of my wish list was still available. Shockingly, the Birkenstock boots were still available, as were most of my other picks. Ironically, this makes me wonder if I have bad taste.

Regardless, I ordered the Birk ankle boots (I simply adore Birkenstocks and have very high hopes for these) and a pair of OTK boots. I must be going crazy, as I DON'T WEAR OTK boots, especially ones with heels. I can't imagine these will work, but DH liked these (go figure!) so I decided to give them a go. I ordered two shift dresses (a shape that typically works for me), the Tahari leather jacket, and an interesting necklace. I have an outfit in mind for the necklace, as I can see it working very well with a black button down top. Last, I ordered a pair of animal print ankle boots. I don't want to get political, but let me just say I struggled with whether to order them (and still don't know if I can keep them, even if they fit).

Anyway, the family and I are leaving for New Orleans tomorrow (hopefully tomorrow - we had a horrible storm last night and have a tree down that we need to do something about tomorrow morning). Our kids have seen a lot of US landmarks, but have not seen the South (Florida not withstanding), so we will tour a plantation, take a bayou tour, go on a ghosts and cemetery tour, see the aquarium, and have beignets at Cafe du Monde. NOLA isn't really a city for kids, but I love it there and have spent a lot of time there, so I am delighted to be going back.

This means that I will not be able to actually see or try on my picks for over a week, but at least I got my order in! If anyone has seen any of these things IRL or has tried any of them, please feel free to comment - good or bad. I have no illusions that I will keep everything I ordered, but these were the things I had to see.
