Is anyone planning on it ?
Are you looking for something specific ?
Does anyone know the dates ?

On my list for winter are replacements for a big, cashmere cardigan and a black one too. I think that is all I need. Oh and a winter navy blazer. I lost mine ! It is mind boggling. I am 50 years old and have never lost a piece of clothing. What is happening ?

I loved it last year, but with baby #2 due at the end of October, I will be sitting this one out. Can't even shoe shop as my feet are already swollen.

Angie mentioned in my Seattle thread that preselections are July 10-17, and the sale goes on for (I think) 2 weeks after that. I am not usually a huge NAS shopper because I am not good at the whole shopping-before-the-season thing, but I am going to be in Seattle during it, so I can't miss the opportunity to shop NAS at the flagship Nordies, can I?

I definitely plan on going -- I should make a plan so I don't go too crazy.

I should avoid skirts -- I have enough and rarely wear them. Unless there is some really fab, new, easy-to-wear silhouette, I'll avert my eyes. I probably don't need to look at shoes either.

I would keep an eye out for a fab grey jacket in leather or even wool. Maybe a new sweater if there is something really fab. If there is something interesting in denim, perhaps a new pair of jeans. But I did a lot of shopping last fall/winter so my closet is in really good shape.

What Diana said about the dates. I have a hectic client schedule during preselections that week. Busiest on record. No rest for the wicked.

I never ever shop the NAS with a plan. I buy a few high-end pieces and have lots and lots and lots of fun with friends and clients along the way. The NAS is a local Seattle institution - and almost everyone around here looks forward to it.

How discounted are items? Is anything at Rack pricing levels or does it tend to be discounted to 50% or less?

I should probably add that my strategy for NAS is BBQ when there is something I love -- then evaluate at home. I can always return if I change my mind.

Definitely plan on participating as usual, fall/winter IS my dominant season. Based on the trends and runway looks I'm not really looking forward to it (haven't been into the fall fashion overall the past two years), but do hope to be pleasantly surprised. I usually have a list of things I'd like to get, but rarely stick to it

EDIT: I realize now that you're looking for lists, but I haven't made my fall list just yet -- we're just getting into summer here! Maybe this weekend, since there's rain forecasted.

I may skip NAS this time ( first time since joining YLF!). Between weight loss program ( not sure what size I will be by the year end) and a recent car purchase (major bank account damage) I cannot really plan for anything this year. However I do need to get a bra fitting because my size changed and get a couple of new bras - and NAS is a good place for this. Also if I see something great in the shoe department I may just go for it as shoes are my major pain point.
We will see how strong is my will next month!
Most likely I will be cheering you all from the sidelines!

I'm excited about the sale but can hardly bear the idea of shopping for winter! We've had maybe two days so far when it was warm enough for shorts and sleeveless shirts. Maybe I'll feel differently by late July.

This is my fall shopping list so far and I hope to check some items off.

Fall 2014 wish list:

Tall black dressy boots
Merlot booties
or tall boots
Ink blue leather jacket
Burgundy bag (lighter or darker than boots)
light grey (silverfish) long coat

I'm planning a trip to Paris this fall with my best friend (!) so I have a few items I'd like to get including a Longchamp tote as well as black walking shoes, probably trainers of some sort. I will limit myself to one dress, but I want to make it count! I would also love to find the perfect black trench coat. I got my tan trench last year at the NAS (one of Angie's picks) and I just love it. I will only be buying online, though. Going into the store is just too overwhelming for me.

Ah, Sveta, we can't miss our shop-a-thon!! Although in truth it might be hard for me to get away then anyway for a bunch of reasons. Still....I hope to twist your arm.

I have not plans or list, though. I will wait and see what is on offer that I like.

I do know that I must avoid skirts because like Janet, I rarely wear them in winter. (I wear them constantly in spring/summer -- just not in the winter months.)

Well, I could use a new Bernardo puffer already. But I don't know what to do, because I'm sure it won't last the summer and winter and all the way to the next NAS.

1) Yes.
2) So far this year, I've bought six things: three pairs of Fluevogs and 3 pairs of replacement capri leggings. I could use:

V-neck cardigans (replacement)
Lightweight tops (replacement/refresh)
1 dress (though historically have not had good luck during NAS)
Underthings
More workout tops + leggings

If I ran into the perfect versions of these I could see myself buying them:

Cobalt or other bright colored leather jacket
Colorful trench coat
Grey jeans
Cool purse (not that I need any more - frankly speaking , I've been using last year's Longchamp expanding zippered tote almost nonstop)
Scarf (tired of old ones)

Can't wait to see the preview pdf, whenever it shows up.

I am hoping to find a pair of comfy, very supportive, rigid soled, 2.5"-to-3" high-heeled (with a platform to offset the heel height) black leather bootie with a split vamp. How's that for specific?

I think I am going to shop without a plan this year. I want to try out a Burberry quilted jacket if it goes on sale but everything else will be serendipitous.

Basics/replacements: BFs, black trous, a statement cardigan or jacket (having sworn not to buy another conventional blazer ever again), 2 - 3 tops, a foldable tote, a daytime bag, leather tote, lingerie, tights.

Perpetual quest: a sharp hat for the rainy season, the perfect jeans

Love Angie's never shop with a list...I guess that is my new NAS mantra...

Definitely would love a fabulous winter coat - men's overcoat styling. Otherwise just keeping an open mind and trying not to get caught up in the feeding frenzy!! But a fabulous treat or two will be permitted!!

nice collection of bags and even had a luck to see really nice collection of women accessories so overall NIS was a great experince.

My tradition is to buy a leather jacket at NAS, keeping an eye on Angie's picks for something wonderful that I wouldn't have thought of.

Not sure if I'll feel like spending any money this summer, though, since we're a little over-extended on real estate at the moment. There are times when not spending just feels better than spending, you know?

I am a loyal Nordstrom shopper, ( I used to work there!) but I usually don't do NAS. Not that I can't shop out of season! If I see what I like, I'll buy it, regardless of season. ( I am not on Team Wear!). However, I will look for shoes in my size, 10.5 N, last year I got some nice Stuart Weitzman flats. And I always am on the lookout for some different accessories, scarves, belts, interesting fashion jewelry. So, we'll see!
