NAS K/R: MK red trench, Cole Haan Air Monica wedges

What do you think of these?

I am trying to decide which trench I like better: the red MK trench http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/mi.....er/3299010 or the blue Gallery trench from this thread

The one advantage of the red trench is removable warm liner for added versatility.

Also, what do you think of these shoes? http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/co.....ve/3287075 I don't have any black heels/pumps/wedges and I like the metal studs but I am not sure if the bow tie decoration is too cutesy.

I like the blue one better. The sleeves look too big at the opening and it just looks a tad big overall. I'm not a huge fan of the bow personally. I think lyn* bought a pair of cole haan wedges recently that were bowless. Maybe the tahlia?

ETA: my mistake they do have a bow but small lace one. I prefer these personally.

I like the bow, but it's up to you, depending on your style preference! I like both coats, but I can speak to the convenience of a removable liner from my own experience, so I'd go with the red, I think.

I like the red on you. It seems to fit in the body better. Plus it's a great color for you.

The studs to counteract the bow a bit in terms of the cutesy thing - if you like them keep them, but if the bow is bugging you, I'd pass.

Makrame, this is a HARD choice! I love the blue on you, it is superduper fab with your colouring and clearly a standout shade. But the convenience of a removable liner...! Oh dear. Go with practicality (and I say this with a slightly sore heart). Can't keep both somehow, can you?

I like the fit of the blue coat better, particularly in the arms. If you can shorten the sleeves on the red one I might like it better. It looks like the decorative wrist strap you find on trenches is high up, so an easy alteration.

I think both colors are equally smashing.

The shoes are cute! A lot of shoes are bowed right now. They look good for work to me.

KathyL, thanks for your suggestion! I have the Air Tali wedge in two different colors and wear it almost everyday. That's why I decided to try the Air Monica - still comfortable but a bit different.

I might look into sleeve alteration on the red trench - I know the tailor I use can shorten them but I am not sure what to do about the width of the opening.

Manidipa, I am with you on not being able to pick a clear winner the two trenches. The reality of my lifestyle is that most of the time, I do not need a liner since I only have to walk from the car to work through a covered walkway. But when traveling, the liner and the hood would probably be very handy - I could pack just one trench and cover a wide range of temperatures.

I do prefer the MK trench (red). I think it *marginally* fits you better.

I vote nay on the wedges. I am not sure about that front detail. It looks a little frumpy to me.

I still like the blue best overall for the way the color looks on you and the fit.

What look are you going for with your trench? The blue is a beautiful, striking, slightly romantic/moody/dramatic color on you. The red feels more classic.

I do like the shoes, but again it's probably a matter of preference with the bows.

I'm not a great fan of cutesy shoes, but the bow on this one is square enough to counteract the girlie effect. In other words, I think they work.

As for the trenches, there is no clear winner looks-wise, so let practicality win. Especially if you don't have another coat that will fill the same function.

The sleeve length on the blue is better. They fit about the same to me. Colours are both great. The removable inner is an advantage!

I love the shoes. I am a Chanel, Valentino and Prada girl. Of course I love sculptural bows
