NAS Halogen print skirt...anyone try it?

Hi Nancy (and Zap): I bought it and have it here, but I think I may return it. the fabric is lightweight - it seems summery to me, not wintery, and paired with a sweater it gives a seasonally confused vibe. This is too bad, because I really like the longer length and also the somewhat looser cut.

Thanks for weighing in Sarah. The summer weight is disappointing because I was hoping it could be a good fall/winter alternative. The colors seem so cool weather. But at least the length is good.

How was the sizing?

It was one of the things that drew me into NAS, but you know when I got there, I didn't try it on. I was looking for something more "pencilly" and I do already have a brocade skirt. Fabrication looked good to me, tho, on the hanger.

Nancy, it's not brocade-y. It feels like a cotton animal print. The photo online is very deceiving. I've snapped a photo with my phone, below. I don't know if that helps?

I had to size up in petite sizing, but I always have to with the Halogen skirts. For some reason (I think because I'm very short waisted and a rectangle), they don't fit me TSS, as they do others.

I tried on the turquoise print. It fit me great but it is longer and I cannot wear heels. It is not hemmable (sp?) because it is curved from the hip to the hem. I would have purchased it if I could have shortened it.

Wow! Thanks for the photo, Sarah. You weren't kidding about the online photo being deceiving. This looks like a different skirt altogether. It really does look like an animal print IRL, and the cotton fabrication just isn't what I'm looking for. Dang. I was really hoping it would be more like the VC tube midi.

The turquoise mirror print skirt is by far, my favorite item at NAS. Hope it works. Good to know, downgrading expectations now ;(

I purchased the blue/black brocade. The pattern pic above looks like cheetah--mine seemed to have more swirly brocade design as shown online. It seems to be a bit of both. It is a flat print vs. raised. The online picture makes this skirt look knee length. Mine came significantly past my knees so it's being hemmed by alterations. I agree with Sarah--this is not a winter weight material, but be nice in a warmer fall/winter climate like we have in Texas.

The skirt didn't make my list because the fabric wasn't all that fab. Fit was a little off.

I tried it on and was very disappointed with the fit. I tried 2 sizes and neither worked for me. The waist tight (not good for an apple) and rest too loose and shapeless (similar to the old Halogen seamed pencils on me, but I was able to taper those in a larger size, this didn't seem like that would make sense or it would be too much work for the item)
