Hello fabbers! I had a wonderful opportunity to shop the Nordstrom sale today and wanted to share the experience.

Nordstrom Yorkdale was very well organized, sale items were corralled off in each of the departments. I was asked at each area if I was an a Nordies ambassador, but Nordstrom Visa card holders are also given early access...not that I had to show my card.

Selection wasn’t bad. I’ve put in finds some of the items I remember seeing from Angies curated selection. It wasn’t crowded, but items were definitely moving quickly off the racks.

My ‘haul’ : Ugg Socks. I spotted a lone pair of these socks. Once I touched them I had to have them. So soft!! I would have bought a second set had they been available. Canuks please note I purchased them for 24.95, I think the us site has them for 20.00.

I heard my colour calling me in the shoe dept. These Ilsa Jacobsen shoes/loafers whatever they are , are simply amazing. They’re like wearing clouds on your feet. So light, so comfy! Reviews say they fit small, and to size up. I take a size 7, a euro 37 can be a bit on the small side. I bought these shoes in a 37. What I did notice is that heel area is a bit wide for me, so my toes slide forward. When I add an insole problem solved. Again, very decent price comparison, I paid 64.95 cdn, they are listed at 54.95 usd.

i also tried on the Blondo hiking boots in the lovely oyster colour. I was taken with the side zip ( I’m so lazy with footwear) and waterproofness. I found the top part of the boot dug into the front of my ankle when I walked. I thought maybe with a longer sock I could pad it somewhat. I pulled out my new ugg socks ( why not get a wear in before I even leave the store), and tried again. I could still fill it digging in slightly. Perhaps with a thicker sock it might not be an issue, but as I do a lot of walking, it was a deal breaker. Price comparison not as favourable as other items, 149 cdn, versus 99 usd.

The fuzzy off white pullover was really cute. I wandered back to it thinking I would try it on...and gone! Not meant to be.

Other items of note, being a coat gal I was so glad not to see the Avec Les Filles coat in teal. It was there in the dark cranberry colour, much less of a temptation. ( I think the price was 199 cdn). Speaking of temptation, the black and white houndstooth coat looked gorgeous, and if we weren’t in the time of Covid I probably would have tried it on, and we all know how that would end. Another coat in the closet!

As always, the staff at Nordstrom are lovely, and so helpful I saw lots of fashionable masks and headgear on staff an customers alike.
