NAS dilemna

Ok. Grr. Argh. I'm having Nordstrom frustrations. I do not want to drive to all the Nordies in a 50 mile radius, and there are quite a few. But no one store has all that I want to look at, and I really don't want to do the ship and return thing.

My Nordies seems to have the Joie Mariner B Tuxedo Track Pants back.
City Nordies #2 has the Betsey Johnson Coat

Also, I should try and look for some real trousers. I don't know what my best shot for that would be. Maybe the Downtown one in the City or the Southern Suburbs. If I go Downtown, I should go to Uniqlo (where I've never been), but that is too much shopping for me.

Of course I admit I don't know what I'd wear the coat with, but I figure it's a coat and will cover up everything. Also, the dog could have a fun walk on the beach if we go that way.

What would you do?

Can't you lucky US shoppers order online and return at a store? Order anything that seems interesting, have it delivered to your home, try it on, and once you are finished, bundle it all in your car to drop off at whatever store seems most convenient. That would be shopping nirvana to my way of thinking!

I second Gaylene! Just have it shipped to you, try on, and take it back to the store if you don't like it.

I have a hard time taking packages because I live in a building without a full-time management office. So things either get left on the stoop to be stolen, or I have to leave work on the sly and drive all over looking for the postal depot they're being held at, or have them delivered to a store... which seems contrary to the point.

Since I have some time today, it would be nice to just go and be done!

What Gaylene said. My daughter prefers having all her packages delivered to her workplace. Can you do that?

I know rachy shipping and returning can be such a hassle even if it is free. I would say go to both the Nordies if you really want the pants and the coat. Those pants are worth the trip.

I wish Mochi! Unfortunately I'm a contractor, so it wouldn't be quite seemly.

I suppose we could do the City today, Mona, and then our regular store one weeknight. Or just shop til we drop all day today. Lol.

Did you call and ask one store to check if they'd have both items? I understood that they can see inventory that online doesn't acknowledge. . .so just maybe one store would have both items?

Otherwise, I'd work on the main item you want - track pants and dress pants - and go there - downtown?

I don't have any good suggestions but I feel your pain. Shopping overwhelms me pretty quickly and I know I could only take so many stores in one day.

I think getting them all shipped to a single store makes a lot of sense. I think Sweta iirc does this for her annual nas shop.

Go to the bigger store. They'll have more of everything. Have them order what you can't find there; you could have things shipped for pick up at the store closest to you, rather than your home.

can you ship to a friend who lives close by? if not, echo getting everything delivered to one store and going there to try. And while you wait, go for a walk with Lilipup on the beach

Sveta and I are having all our stuff shipped to a single store and going to try it on there. We will return what we don't want (most of it, I expect) right on the spot!

It's not a problem to do this. The stuff just goes to their Customer Experience dept.

You might also try a friend, as Glory suggests.

I never find everything I want at one store either. I ordered a large amount online (multiple sizes of items) myself. If delivery to your home will not work, I think delivery to the store as Sveta and Suz have done would work well. Plus you can return right away!

I was a nut. I went to two stores, the easy ones, not the Downtown one. They were cleared out. The value of early NAS was driven home. I did get the Joie Mariner track pants, the Trouve blazer with leatherette shoulders, and a maroon belt. But struck out on coats. The Betsey Johnson coat... if I do say so myself, it looked good on me, but was too big and no smalls were left. Puffers were totally gone... boo hoo. Maybe I'll try a delivery to my store, that may be the most straightforward and easiest combination of suggestions - which I really appreciated. Silly to get in a tizzy over going to a store, but there you have it. I have to go back to pick up the blazer which is being taken in, so maybe I could squeeze it all into one last trip.

And Lilypup did get her walk on the beach. It was her kind of day out there, fogged over. She was nuttypup with happiness.

I also stopped by my local Nordie's today and they were quite picked over.
