NAS Cape - Keep or Return?

I really like this Halogen cape, I just have two hesitations.

1. I wanted a camel colored coat, which this is; however, it's not as yellow-ish as I was hoping to find. I'm concerned that it's one step away from being soul-sucking beige. What do you think?

2. It's not lined. I live in a warmer climate, so I'm not necessarily looking for something to wear during snowstorms here - in fact this is really a perfect weight. But I'm just wondering if the lack of lining speaks to its being a lower quality, and perhaps it won't hold up as well. Anybody else look at this particular item?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

ETA: Excuse the white bermudas! Obviously, the cape wouldn't be worn with them!

I love the silhouette on you! You have the shoulder line to pull this off. I want to layer a black turtle neck under the cape to break up the colour - do you wear those? The tan is a little draining in colour though - but the photo might make it look worse than it is.

There is a grey Sherlock Holmes cape from Guess with a waistline that is going on my top picks list next Friday. Did you see that style and try it on?

This looks more like a coat with cape sleeves. The color in the photo seems like a good light neutral on you. The black trim helps. Does the fabric seem tight enough to hold up without a lining? Maybe someone else has seen it and can comment better on the quality.

Yes, Angie, the silhouette is what I like the most about it, too. If it were in a chocolate brown color, I'd be in heaven. They had to ship this item to me from another store, so when it comes in, I'll take another picture in natural light and we'll be able to judge the color better. I did not see or try the Guess cape. Grey is not a good color on me, so I don't even bother looking at it.

Joy, It's a lighter weight wool, so I *think* it would hold up, but this is my concern, also.

Fun cape! I love it on you. I too would like to see it styled and in natural lighting, but I think it has a lot of potential.

Okay, this was another item the woman I met had picked out (in black). The fit is really nice on you. We unbuttoned the sides and it made a huge difference when it looked more like a poncho. I liked it a lot better that way. Have you tried it? Not sure of the color on you, though - is it really that light?

I sctually like the colour. But I don't believe in soul-sucking beige ( all variations from tan to beige camel and kaki look nice to my eye) . Especially with the black trim it's a nice elegant look. A black scarf , or a dark reddish brown would be interesting with it.

Oh, I want to like it, but I don't like the color or the shape. It's not you, it's the cape. I think they are hard to wear!

I like the shape, but wish it were a tad shorter in length and a more flattering color near your face. With this one, I want to add a scarf to draw color up to your pretty face.

Thanks for your feedback! When it comes in, I'll style it and take a picture in better lighting to get more feedback. This is a tricky one for me - I love the idea of it, but I'm not emotionally married to it, so if it doesn't work, I have no problem taking it back and looking for something else.
