Ok guys...after I gorge on this slice of humble pie, I really need your help. I may have struck a whiny, even bitchy, tone in my last post about the lack of selection for pluses...and yet here I am with a list of multiple items that I want and pretty much 0 ability to choose between them!!

So here's what we're going to do. I'm going to set up cage matches by category, and you tell me which one is best. If I wind up with a split vote, I will *consider* more than one item. But I'm hoping to wind up with a consensus on some of this.

Leather Jackets Lock n' Load: One is insanely expensive, one is...less so. Is this a case of getting what you pay for or that rare instance where comparable value can be had for less?

How much do you wear leather jackets? The Halogen one is pretty nice and half the price.

I like the CE dress better than the Scuba print. I think those Eloquii culottes are very you. The EF tunic is a basic slam dunk but the Halogen tie neck blouse has a fun vintage vibe. I personally don't like the chevron on the Fossil bag, but then I hate 70s Browns.

Ok, first off the leather jackets. I can't get the CE link to work but the Halogen is a very good looking jacket and I think the smocked panels would make it easy to fit.
On to the dresses....the CE stretch silk is a very conservative dress, long sleeved, high neck, small geometric pattern. Would you be wearing this to work? It doesn't seem like a party or special occasion dress to me. The second dress is a great colour and pattern, but double check that it's long enough for you. I think the description says 41 inches.
Now the bottoms...the black pointe look great if you need another pair of black then these would be a good choice. I also really like the dark denim straight legs - they would be a great basic. The grey ones look a bit too tight, almost "sausagey", in the photo, but maybe someone has tried them IRL and could give better feedback.
And finally the tops - the EF looks lovely and you know the quality will be good. I like the Halogen tie neck too, but again it's a conservative looking blouse. I can't get the link for the VC georgette, but I love the NYDJ Henley. Berry Pacifica is a really pretty floral with a light background. If you decide against the Halogen then you could order the Henley in two colour ways.
I'm kind of meh on the Fossil bag. The chevrons are quite large, and I'm not crazy about the orangey-tan colour mixed with the black and cream. Again maybe someone has seen it and could offer more informed feedback.
Oh, didn't you also have a striped top on your wish list? Black with grey maybe? It looked really good to me.

Oh good, I see Laura has just posted the link for the CE jacket...yes it's lovely but do you need the shearling collar? I think the Halogen is a great choice for the money.

Damn. YLF just ate my post so I'm keeping my rewrite short and sweet.

After our chat the other night I would go for the Halogen jacket unless you truly want to splurge on the Classiques.

I can attest that on me-with full legs and calves-grey NYDJ are definitely not sausage casing/legging tight. They are a slim cut but not tight.

I vote no on the purse; it has a lot of brown and in a medium, not quite tan shade, and I think there are more Michelle-eesque handbags out there.

Can you get the Eloquii culottes and jeans? Or are you committed to just one bottom?

I like everything you picked. It depends on where you will wear the pieces and where you see your style going.
Jackets: leaning toward the Halogen moto as a younger style yet still classic. But also can see you in the CE.
Dresses: leaning toward the CE, but it is classic. I'd need to see you in the scuba dress but the color is great for you. You may need leggings with it for work.
I like all the pant choices. The grey are the most casual, a faded finish. If you need basic black skinnies, get the Ponte pants. If you want a wild card, culottes!
Tops: I can't see the VC, so will go with either of the first two.
Bag: Classic with a twist but I'm not sure about the prominent tan for you. Still, it could be a good accent piece with your wardrobe.
I will be interested in what Angie's choices are.

Ack, I went to a different page and my post got eaten. I like the Taylor dress, because of the color, but the other one is also great. I like the NYDJ dark Samantha jeans and NYDJ floral Henley. I'd skip the bag.

(I myself am coveting a non sale price aubergine tote on rebeccaminkoff.com but that's another story.)

Okay, FWIW Michelle, this is what I think:

1. Halogen smock-sided moto jacket. It’s longer and you are tall.

2. CE stretch silk dress. Better length, and more special. Stunning quality. You will like the way it feels on your skin.

3. NYDJ Ponte Knit Pants. They are a magical fit, and great for a cold Winter.

4. Faux Leather Culottes. SO FUN. Got to have a wild card.

5. EF V-neck Tunic. Fab colour on you - and great over the Ponte pants. The cabaret is stunning too.

6. NYDJ Henley. Fab with the culottes. Loving the Window Pane, actually.

7. YES. Bag is great with most of these items.

And if there is budget leftover - get a pair of jeans.

Also, was going to add that the Classiques dress, though not body con, is very particular RE: where the waist hits. That's where the dress fell short on me and was just OK but nice feeling fabric, rather than a gorgeous midi. You have more traditional bust-waist-rise proportions than I do and are tall, so you're probably better suited for who the pattern is cut for.

I think you've all persuaded me against the fossil bag. I really would prefer it if it were just black and cream...or black, cream and something other than brown. For some reason I have a really hard time picturing shades of brown and therefore struggle to incorporate them into my style. The outfits I devise are all based around mental pictures I can form. So...ixnay to that.

Three quick questions remain:
1. For the Eileen Fisher tunic, which everyone seems to agree upon, do you vote cabernet or ultramarine?
2. What does the black windowpane pattern on the NYDJ henley top look like?
3. Which jeans would you get, the blue or the grey?

The windowpane pattern is a grid of thin white lines on a black background. I bought this shirt myself, so I just went and measured. The lines are about 3 mm wide and the grid is about 5 cm. So the effect is a mostly black shirt with a simple open white grid. Obviously, I like it since I chose it myself

The grey jeans are a little faded on the thighs and the blue jeans aren't. So the grey will be a bit more casual and the blue more polished. The blue seem more your style, unless you're wanting a more casual option. And not to make your choice harder, but if you didn't run across it, there's also a nice NYDJ mini bootcut jean in the sale. I failed to chime in early enough on the earlier decisions, but I like your choices!
So I'll answer your latest questions.
1. Tough, tough decision on color of the EF tunic. The cabernet is kind of plummy. I might call it boysenberry. It's really luscious, a deep, cool purple-red shade. The blue would be a slam dunk on you, though.
2. The black windowpane on the NYDJ top is black with narrow white or off-white lines; the squares formed by the lines are probably about 3" x 3".
3. I would choose blue (Samantha straight-leg). The gray is kind of worn looking, and the blue ones are definitely a denim wash, yet very uniform and rather dark. So I think they are dressier looking, neater, more classic, and a pretty shade of dark blue denim for you. If you got the dark blue jeans, though, you might think about the cabernet tunic, as it would look great with them as well as with the black ponte pants.

Looks like you're set, but just wanted to chime in with another vote for the Halogen jacket. It just sounds so you!

I'm also voting for the cigarette pants and the statement culottes.

Can you buy jeans locally or is that tough?

Feedback on tops is to get something you can wear with the culottes, unless you already hav an appropriate piece in your closet.
