The first of a few orders arrived (I've never ordered so much clothing in one week but am taking advantage of the free shipping and returns to use my home as my dressing room.)

The first thing that caught my eye when looking through the sale was the Vince Camuto reversible poncho. I've not owned a poncho since about 1st grade (it was brown and yellow plaid, with matching pants, and I adored it). On my monitor, it looks a bit blue tinted; in real life it's definitely black and grey. It's soft and comfortable and warm; I can imagine how nice it will be to wrap up in when the weather turns cooler. Do you think the fit and style work for me? My only concern is that the edges don't feel well finished off--our YLF seamstresses would have the right terminology for it--I'm concerned that they don't fray from use. If I keep it, I may take it to my tailor to see if she can reinforce the edges.

The second item here is the Cole Haan perforated oxfords in grey. They are incredibly light and seem super comfortable--they will probably come along to NYC in August. I'm wearing them with grey jeans which I picked up last month from the Long Tall Sally store near Detroit. I'm thinking that with the jeans, the poncho, the perforated oxfords, and a few other items I already have, I can put together a casual capsule for the fall.

Anyway, the oxfords are almost certainly a keep. I'd be interested in your opinions about the poncho--both the issue with the finish (or lack of it) and how you think it fits and looks.

I hope to post more NAS results in the next few days.
