Here are pics of my NAS purchases -- be warned that I haven't really styled things to their best advantage in these pics, just quick try-ons for pictures. I'd love any feedback!
1. Nic & Zoe red top
Kut from the Kloth Natalie jeans
The top probably would be more likely worn untucked, but I prefer these jeans with a tucked top and belt. The jeans were a surprise -- the SA put them in the fitting room and my initial reaction was not positive, but I tried them on and liked them, despite the whiskering and faded wash! Now I'm glad I have an alternative to all my dark-wash jeans.
2. Halogen houndstooth top
Hudson Beth jeans
Luxury Rebel boots
OK, these boots really need a skinnier jean, I know. And these jeans need to not be stuffed in a boot. See later photos for that.
I loved this top in the store, but not sure in the photo. I have a strange attraction to houndstooth and I love the blue-black combo. The ruching along the sides seems to sit a little low? Maybe the top is too roomy and I need to size down?
3. Halogen plaid jacket
Paige Skyline Drive Straight jeans
Me Too gray flannel flats
I love these shoes! So comfy, and I love gray flannel for some reason, but toughened up -- I'd probably wear these with jeans and black leather jacket.
This is a bad pose but the only photo I snapped of this -- I was getting tired. The jacket looks better IRL. It has a self-belt which I probably won't use.
Paige is rapidly becoming my new favorite denim brand. These jeans fit well and feel good!
4. Hinge leather jacket (with Hudson Beth jeans from #2 and Me Too shoes from #3)
The Hinge jacket I wasn't going to buy! It's so close-fitting, I think I'd probably pair it with a straight-leg trouser jean or higher waisted skirt, or even a simple dress with a bit of A-line to it.
These jeans look better here, but I did try folding them under a little to get a sense of whether I'd like to hem them to wear with flats. That's why the hem looks a bit wonky and too short.
5. Curio sweater jacket (with Hudson Beth jeans and Me Too shoes)
6. J Brand gray skinny zippered crops from Nordstrom Rack
Joie gray patterned silk blouse
I'm trying to figure out how to style these pants. I think I like them with these shoes. The blouse is out of my comfort zone -- boxy, a puff on the sleeve, and a tie. It looks AWFUL tied (my chest looks like balloons are stuffed in my shirt), but I quite like it open, so I was thinking I might have the ties cut off. I like the drape and the pattern, what do you think?
7. Ella Moss cowl sweater (with pants from 6 and Luxury Rebel boots from 2)
I love this sweater's drape, color and texture. What do you think of it with these pants? I'm trying to figure out shoes for these pants. Are these too heavy? Or do they provide some balance so I don't have the dreaded "ice-cream cone" effect? See next photo...
8 As above, except with my Fluevog booties instead. Is this getting into ice-cream-cone territory? I don't want to look wide in the hip and thigh!
9. Charles David lace-up boots
I just threw on the Muse dress I already owned as this is the kind of thing I envision wearing with these boots. I've wanted some tall black boots, and I love the lace-up detail. I wish they fit a little closer in the ankle, but that may be a difficult thing to find.
10. WIW yesterday - as casual as it gets! My new Kuts in action.
Whew, this is a lot to look through. I'm amazed if you're still with me!
