NAS, do you know already what you need?

I just looked at the catalog & even though I love many things I can't think of what I need for Fall/Winter while in Summer. This always happens to me & then I miss out altogether, not even trying to get something on sale, because I can't find anything by the time I know I need it.

Good question, Elle. I have lots of wants:-) And a few needs. E.g. I could really use a pair of knee-high dressy boots. I'm loving the idea of light grey or some shade of burgundy (either would look fab with something else I'm hoping to find: a lilac or lavender wool Winter coat). I could also definitely use a pair of dressy trousers, and a full length pair of BF jeans. And I really really want a military style jacket, a navy blazer and a full or flared skirt (have been impossible to find in a true knee-length on me). I'm sure that I'll fall in love with many more items once the NAS starts and Angie posts her picks:-)

Either way, my closet is so nicely set that I should sit this one out. Instead I have my eye on the new Cole Haan Sabrina's in the zebra print and tassels.

I've found that when Angie makes her recommendations, and others start posting their finds and showing pics, I start craving things I hadn't even looked twice at previously.

Some of those purchases become surprise treasures, some I should have skipped . . . Maybe this year I'll be smarter

Fall and winter are dominant here and even so it is hard to think about them when we are so much enjoying the summer weather. I know I want some short leather boots. Last year I tried a pair of ankle boots in faux and learned I loved the cut but hated the faux as my feet were always wet.. Money wasted but lesson learned. I would love the Frye ones. I like Inge's idea of grey or burgundy. I am very attracted to earth tones but realized for me it is better to have a colour palette to work with and I do not have browns. I would also love a bomber or leather moto, and 1-2 new sweaters. Alas - none of these will come from NAS because shipping to Canada is outrageous. I think I can find something similar here, except for the Fryes

I'm sticking to my usual underwear/bras and possibly an accessory. I won't need cool weather clothes until November or December, so it just doesn't make sense for me to buy them in July.

I am trying to work that out now, Elle. So far, I've decided that I need a new blazer or jacket of some kind (possibly a colourful or mixed media one), tall boots if I can find them (love Inge's idea of grey...), colourful or taupe booties (depending what I like more). And possibly jeans. I can also imagine picking up a pullover or two, but that's not necessary.

It is so hard for me. I feel like summer just started, so it is hard to look at fall and winter pieces. Yet, fall and winter are my dominant seasons. So, I sort of need to figure it out.

I'm not a big NAS shopper because I don't want to buy things I can't wear for months. NAS for me is more about taking notes and thinking about what to stalk for fall. So if I buy anything, it's usually some basics or something I have been stalking for a while.

This year, though, I do badly need some black, low-heeled pumps with slingbacks or ankle straps so I am hoping there are some good, comfy ones at NAS.

I am pretty sure I don't need anything. I could, however, use some comfortable wedge pumps (I have a couple of pairs that I wear all the time, and they may need to be replaced at some point). I have my eye on Cole Haan wedges, not sure yet whether they are going to be a part of NAS.

I'm looking to refresh with some things in pine greens. I also like the idea of a leather tee; I saw some in the catalog for a pretty nice price so they may go on the list. And there is always the winter coat to find.

I desperately need a black leather moto. I am looking forward to hearing Angie's reviews on those in the catalogue. Complicating the issue, I have recently become very active again (I normally am, but wasn't for a while due to circumstances) and I am losing weight. The issue is that I don't know where the weight will end up, so I don't know how much I want to invest yet...

Being in Australia, I don't participate, I spectate Just wanted to say I love the activity on the forum relating to NAS, it's such fun. The first year I experienced YLF/NAS was amazing, and I have enjoyed it from the sidelines since. Have fun ladies and I look forward to seeing everyone's purchases.

I want the white leather moto too Angie but I'm not sure whether I have reached saturation with jackets. I have a black moto & a sand leather kinda moto, & a white blazer. I feel the need for more cropped jackets to wear with dresses that aren't denim but I'm not sure that this leather one is cropped enough. It might be the same length as my sand one.

I really need absolutely nothing but will order a few things that intrigue me because I am just thrilled to be able to order and return something. Yes, I know it is sad. That said, despite having no needs at all in this department, I will look at the shoes first, then jackets second, and everything else third.

Need, Elle, NEED? What kind of question is that, LOL!?! Then there's stuff I want. . . Well, I just got a $25 price adjustment on an online purchase, so that's more to pour into NAS. I'm waiting for another item I bought to be marked down so that can be adjusted, too.

But ultimately, I'm trying to decide what I REALLY like to wear so I don't end up buying stuff I really don't/won't wear much. The fight is between woven shirts which can be a bit fussy and knits which tend to pill and may not be as flattering. And footwear for my fussy feet. . .

I always replenish my bras ... and I want a new blazer/jacket per Angie's post today. I hear that COH Ava's are going to be included in the sale and I fully intend to grab a pair as I have zero pairs of premium denim in my closet.

That's it so far ... plus whatever other treasures find me!

Strangely enough, I have not shopped NAS before. I stopped by near the end of the sale last year and did not buy anything. It seems like I always find my needed items during 4th of July sales, when they blow out items from the past Fall season (e.g. my tall Timberland boots and the BB trench).

From what I have seen, the only true needs would be the Cara leather hinge cuff (need is for chunky gold wrist candy) and another cashmere pullover (lived in my citron one last year). Possibly the Halogen leather-trimmed tuxedo skinnies to wear to work.
