Three tops for your consideration (all matched with the Munro booties I am still trying to find time to wear around the house long enough to decide if they are comfortable with the slightly higher heel.)

Pic #1 - Amber Sun Zip Neck Crewneck. I selected it for a FFBO option as it would be an easy piece to pop on in the morning. The fabric is a bit thin, so it would require an under layer in the dark depths of Wisconsin winter. Posting as DH thinks it is only okay and wasn't wild about it, but thought I should show it to you fab ladies.

Pic #2 - Trouve Graphic Print top. It is sheer so will require a tank or other shirt underneath. DH really liked this one and I was a lot less certain. I sort of feel like there is little figure flattery here.

Pic # 3-5 - Amber Sun Ponte Moto Jacket. So, I really like moto jackets on others, but leather, with a grubby 21 month old, is just not in the cards for me. (I really dislike being a human Kleenex, but that is where we are right now >.< ) I thought this might work, but I sorta feel a bit out of comfort zone. I am not rough. Or rugged (although I am getting muscles!). I don't like it partially zipped as it feels sloppy to me, and unzipped loses the moto-ness I think. Still, comfy jacket and so fun!

Fall and Winter are my dominant seasons, so give it to me straight. Any of these keepers?

I like the Amber Sun sweater on you! The booties bookend it nicely, too!

I'm not as sure about the Trouvé top, but it's harder to really see it in this picture. How's the side view?

I'm not a fan at all of the moto all zipped up. I much prefer it partially zipped. Once again, it's a little hard to see in these pictures- it's so hard to get a good picture of black things! It might help if you tried it with an outfit that's not black.

Could you maybe show the second sweater with lighter pants, just to get a more clear picture of it?

I'm not sold on the moto for you. To me it's not a fit with your style.

I like the first sweater too. Maybe it's just the pic but it's looks kind of blah...although I'm assuming it's better in person as your DH likes it. It sounds like you're not a big fan of the moto jacket.

I actually like the moto jacket. I find it interesting and great for autumn, but it is another style than many of your dresses etc. Could be fun to mix it up though. And I can see it with pants, skirts and dresses. The sweaters are not wow-ing me (like i.e the one with dots)

I like all of these on you, Thistle. Would the sheer knit of 2 be anything that might be prone to snag or "catch" with a toddler? You aren't sold on the moto but if the leather is treated it will clean up easily. Maybe a different color would bridge your rugged/feminine conundrum?

I like the sweater in #1 and vote keep. It is thin, though (I saw it in person), and so it might be more of a fall piece than a winter piece, even with layering. Even so, I think it's very nice on you and worth a place in your closet.

The others I'm less sold on. I would say pass on the top; I agree that it's not so flattering. If it were a lovely color, it would be one thing, but both color and shape are less than stellar to me.
I like the way the jacket fits you, but I agree it loses some of the moto vibe when open. There will be more moto jackets on sale next year, I bet. Maybe by then you'll be less hesitant about leather, too!

Pil - you are so right on the toddler effect of the sheer top. Yep, going back just for that. I also didn't know you could treat leather jackets. Seems obvious in hindsight . . . Hmmmmm. This would open a lot of lovely options . . . Would love a rich burgundy leather jacket . . .

The colours of the Amber Sun are lovely on you, and it's a bit of a change from other styles you have. I understand it's not much of a winter sweater, but would it be a good transitional piece in September, when you want richer colours but aren't ready for something truly heavy?

I like the idea of the other two more than the reality, but it may simply be that I'm not ready to face black clothes yet! You know what I mean. We wear these dark colours and neutrals all winter...and oy!! I was intrigued by the moto myself and I am glad you showed it to us.

Thistle, I don't know if a leather jacket can be treated *after* purchase - I'm thinking of our leather furniture. So easy to clean, but not that buttery soft feel of the Danier jackets.

Oh oh oh, please be Amber Sun twins (or triplets) with me and Janet. It's such a fun piece. Hard to say about second top. May need better pic. Also having doubts about moto. You will find the perfect jacket.

The moto jacket is definitely a keeper, and I love the sheer blouse in #2 as well. If you're picking between these three items - keep the moto for sure. If you want to keep two - keep the moto and the sheer-ish blouse.

I like the sweater too - the colours are great on you, but it's not at the top of the pile compared to other, more fab items you have to choose from.

PS - editing to add: the moto jacket is spectacular on you! Just wanted to make sure mentioned that

Keep the 1st top for sure. I would try styling the jacket a little more before I decided. It definitely has potential.

... And DH might like the second sweater due to the see-through aspect. But I vote return this one and search for another one with sheer aspects to delight him!

I think number one is the keeper here also. Those colors are great on you.

I like moto jackets, but it can be so hard to get them to lay correctly unzipped. The photos are reading a bit dark on my computer, so it is hard to tell how it fits. If you aren't sure you'll wear it, you have your answer.

#1 looks great to me. I have the same issue with my husband, that what I like and what he does are often different.

I adore the Amber Sun sweater on you - the colors and fit are lovely. I'm not keen on the second sweater though. I think the fit of the moto is great (although the sleeves look like they need a bit of shortening). I would try styling it with a few bottoms and/or dresses though to see if it works with your style.

I love sweater #1 and I really like sweater #2. It seems like figure flattery is a priority for you, so sweater #2 might be borderline because it's kind of voluminous around the waist. But I still like it because it is sheer, and I can see your arms and shoulders, that's where my eye goes to first, and it balances out the rest. So, even though it's not "strictly" figure flattering (doesn't nip in on the waist, etc.) I think it still functions that way. That's just my two cents. I think you look great!

I like the first sweater a lot. The second I actually like too from what I can see (black is hard to photo) but you know best. For me the jacket is maybe a little "tough" but has potential. Not sure I'd wear the black jacket with black pants - makes it even more tough - so if you wear black pants a lot, this may not be the best color choice. Did you try it with blue jeans and other pants?

I have decided to return #2. I have conflicting feelings on it, but it was sealed when I realized that it would probably be destroyed by a toddler. And while I want to look polished, I want toddler hugs and leaps into my arms when I get home from work.

I will try restyling the jacket before making a decision on it.

I like all 3 items, but I tend to stay away from holey tops, I don't get to wear them once our weather cools down. Great idea to try styling your new jacket before commiting. I have to go through my NAS purchases and decide how much works with my current wardrobe.
