Lots of good things, I think, in my first box. All photos taken with the Stuart Weitzman Perfection booties for ease and my own AG Stilt jeans. For reference, I'm 5'1 and usually wear a 10/12/L. I carry most of my weight in my middle (apple) and have broad shoulders and a full bust (IT). All these picks are suitable for my climate (Michigan) and lifestyle. I'm open to any and all feedback, so please don't hesitate to tell me if you like something or if something should go back.
Photos 1 and 2: Vince Jersey Turtleneck, size M. This is my usual size in Vince. Angie and others said to size up in this piece, but I ordered this before I heard that. I think this size is ok, though, no? I do have the L on order, in case it's supposed to fit even more oversized and flowy. At least it will be a good comparison. This is as great as they say -- feels great, I don't mind the tight neck, and I love that it doesn't cling to my midsection like most turtlenecks and layering pieces do.
Photos 3 and 5: This is the Treasure & Bond Relaxed Leather Moto Vest, size M. As my mother would say, "It's a look." The leather feels very substantial and smooth. I hoped this could be an interesting layering piece but I am not 100% sure if I am pulling this off.
Photo 4 and 5: The plaid shirt is the Paige "Mya" in a L. I like where it hits me and it's got a great feel. It's a smidge tight in the bust (well, it doesn't feel tight but the button is close to gaping) but I think it could work. I love the colors, too.
Photos 6, 7, 8: James Perse Double Breasted Blazer, size 4. I love the idea of blazers but I have a hard time fitting into them properly, with my broad shoulders and short waist. The sweatshirt knit eliminates the fit issues since it's much more forgiving. This is a great, substantial piece that's very comfortable to wear. I've been told double-breasted is not good for someone with a large chest but I kind of like this. Feel free to disagree.
Photo 9 and 10: Frame "Le Ruffle" Sleeveless Silk Blouse, size M. This feels nice on and I like the ruffle and tie details. I am surprised it's as short as it is and that a M fits through the bust. I think this holds on to wrinkles, though -- it came that way but they haven't released much since I've hung it.
Photos 10 and 11: Lafayette 148 Paneled Wool Cardigan, size M. This is a smart, upscale take on a "packable down" jacket. This was a SA suggestion that I rejected at first as unnecessary upgrade to my Patagonia but I really like the flat-knit sweater back with vertical seaming (hard to photograph, #11). I don't always like to wear full-on coats, even in the winter, when I'm just dashing in and out, so I think this could get a lot of wear as an indoor-outdoor piece.
Photo 12: Joie "Amone B" silk blouse, size M. This is a pretty blush color that's hard to photograph. Has cute little tucked sleeves. I thought it felt very "French girl." This is my usual Joie size. I could wear alone but I imagined it under a black cardigan.
Photo 13: Joie "Suzetta" silk blouse, size M. This is a beautiful print in person -- a mix of brown, gray, cream, and gold flecks. It's a little sheer and I'd probably be more comfortable with a cami under it. I am not sure the peasant style is as flattering as some other styles but it's one where I never worry about my midsection.
Photo 14: Vince "Shadow Stripe" modal tee. I got this as a layering piece since I tend not to like crewnecks with my bust. While I like the print, it may go back, for the price.
Photo 15: Vince Jumbo Cashmere Hoodie, size M. I love this piece. So comfy, not too oversized. Looks cute layered or plain. Upscale athleisure.
Photos 16 and 17: La Fiorentina Faux Suede Fringe Cape. I could get a lot of mileage out of this. Can be worn as a shawl or a blanket scarf. I thought the fringe added a nice detail.
Photos 18 and 19: ALC "Sullivan" silk dress. I don't usually do well with drawstring waists (since I have basically no waist) so I just cinched this loose. I think it could use a little hemming. Still on the fence about this one but I love the navy/red print and that it's so easy.
Hope the reviews help someone. I'm happy to answer questions and I appreciate your help navigating the sale. I'm sure this is just the first box of many!
