I might give it a go with coordinating colours, say dark purple toes and pale purple fingers with 1 dark purple nail on each hand huuuummmm I'm on hols at the mo so may give it a go watch this space x

I don't normally do my nails, except for special events. That being said- I might try this for a special event. I think it's kind of cute and a little different without being off the wall wacky (which seems to be the preferred nail look here). I do see a lot of women who have different colors on different fingers (3 of one, two of another), or that type of thing, but this is more demure.

I prefer to just have different but complimentary colors on my toes and fingers. While I'm fine with more adventurous colors, I like to keep all of my fingers one shade, and all of my toes one shade. I assume that most people won't bother to see if the odd color on my fingers happens to be the colors on my toes, and I think using multiple colors on your hands draws way more attention to the polish than sticking to just one color. I guess that might be the point, but I prefer to use nail polish as a simple and polished (although sometimes colorful and edgy or funky) accessory rather than as a focal point.

It's not for me but I would think it was cute on somebody else. I hardly ever wear nail varnish and when I do it's a very highly pigmented blue red.

I love it!! On the other hand, I rarely use nail polish on my hands for two reasons: when I'm not working so much I am doing too many dish washing, etc. for it to last and when I am working, I feel it doesn't look as polished (this is just for me, I can admire it on others who can carry it off better than me) as trimmed and natural colored nails. On those rare occasions where I do both top and bottom, I would definitely try it.

I like it. I HATE having my toes and fingers match so this would be a nice way to tie them together. I may try it next time.

Nay for me, but then I never polish my fingernails anyway, so my opinion may not count.

I like the idea but I much prefer only having either my toenails or fingernails painted. I have done a version of this with red nails with one purple nail.

Great responses - I figured there would definitely be people in both camps! I am personally undecided. I usually (like many above) wear complementary colors on nails and toes. I might give it a try, but Kate makes a good point. Sure, people notice that Vanessa Hudgins did this because she is a celebrity and people scrutinize her...would anyone actually notice, assuming toes are visible, what is going on? I'm not sure.
