When Angie posted this spotlight, it caught my attention and held it. ONE nice sweater was on my wish list for this year, and this Naadam brand looked promising. I immediately signed up for their email/text messages, and began browsing the site frequently. My patience paid off in the form of their cyber Monday sale, which was actually pretty major with discounts ranging from small to huge.
I like my tops and sweaters to be a bit loose, so I was drawn to the oversized V-neck. Their size chart said I was a medium; this was before my eye-opening experience at the Armani outlet, so I went with the large. When the sweater arrived, I put it in a gift bag under my tree.
I've worn it twice since Christmas morning and I love it so much! It fit as expected, rather oversized, which is perfect if I want to wear a base layer under it. I'll start with the Cons so I can end on a high note:
Cons:
* limited color choices
* cyber Monday left me with limited size choices in the few colors available. I went with black in spite of how harsh it is next to my pale complexion, because black is stereotypically rocker chic which is kind of my aesthetic.
* not a substantial or meaty fabric. I could see some light through a single layer.
* slightly fuzzy aura, leading me to fear it will pill some
Pros:
* divinely soft and squishy
* fits as expected
* super warm
* some diversity in their model choices gave me a good idea of how it would look on my body
* the ethics/quality/etcetera, as laid out by Angie, are in line with my own viewpoint
Overall, I'm very happy with the sweater I got. It was a bargain at half off, and well worth full price. It kept me warm and dry while I was running errands in the rain yesterday, it feels luxurious when I'm lounging around the house, and I intend to get my mom one for some gift giving occasion in 2021. She has never had a cashmere sweater in her life, and I think she needs one of Nadaam's sweaters to rectify that lack of sufficient soft, warm stuff in her life. Mom deserves soft, warm stuff. DH is also on the list to get one in 2021 because he has decided he needs to buy "more soft sh!t"** for himself, and as a brick mason he NEEDS more soft stuff in his life.
**sorry for the profanity, but when he used those exact words, it delighted me to no end because it is just a perfect counterpoint for the hard time we have all had in 2020
