2017 was the third year of my attempt to build a wardrobe. I started with very few clothes because for a few years after retirement I lived and traveled in a RV. After seeing much of the US and Canada, we bought a home in the desert. It's in a retirement community with lots of social opportunities and we like to attend cultural activities in the larger community. I have lots of opportunities to dress up, and found and followed Angie and YLF to help me with this undertaking. This was a year of finding wardrobe holes and trying to fill them.

For my first Review, I am focusing on sneakers and sandals because they were the only shoes (boots are in good shape) I bought this year, and they work perfectly for my casual life. I like my shoes and jeans to match and all of my purchases worked really well. I wore them often and they were comfortable. I ignored my 2016 and 2015 sandals and sneakers except for the black Nikes and white Supergas. The FitFlop Wedges were perfect house shoes and I've worn them every day since I got them.

In 2018, I plan to add dressy shoes. I have black pumps, black patent loafers, and a pair of neutral wedge sandals. None of them are feminine, they all all kind of clunky and quirky. I'm going to try and see if I like dressier shoes and I have ordered the Franco Sarto shoes (like Angie's but a different color). They haven't arrived yet and if I like them, they will need their own dressy capsule. Maybe I should look for a shoe that combines femininity and clunky - that might be truer to my style.
