My turn: culottes (for Dashielle)

I got these for free with a Nordstrom Note, but I still don't want to keep them unless they are going to make my life better. They have a lot of volume and I'm not sure the length or these shoes are right. What do you think?

I like culottes that are clearly 'pants' but these probably do look like that with movement - front on and still they look like a skirt. Nice colour for you too and I think it will work well with the tones of your wardrobe. Footwear is good. I think I will be in the minority but I like a little more length but that is just my personal preference.

I like them and the drapey fabric must have beautiful movement. I think the length is good, longer length may be overwhelming.
My question is if you would be able to wear them in Fall in your area although why not with the right topper.

They do seem to be a departure from your style but your style has been shifting. How do you feel in them? Are these for fall/winter? If so, the big question is what will you wear for shoes/boots? If you can figure out a way to transition them into your style, then the color and drape are really nice. I can see them working really well with varying greys.

Hmmm. I feel like they're fine, but not wowing me. In theory I like them very much -- the color, the length, the drape are all nice. But somehow, for you, I feel like they need more drama or more attitude.

I love the colour and drape. But what are they made of? Are they going to stick to tights/ hose? This is the key for our climate (unless you plan to wear in summer). Can you wear them with your boots? You need to try styling them up in a bunch of ways.

I almost see you more easily in some of the leather or pleather ones like Elizabeth P got from Zara last year. Or wait...do you have those, too? I am forgetting....

IDK they are almost in between culouttes and gauchos to me-- for some reason I picture you more in a structured pair.

Perhaps not long enough for maximum impact. Like the color though and they might be comfy to have around.

I think you could rock a crisper fabric, one of the wool versions, with boots and get more cold-weather wear from them. More of a rocker- Gaucho look. Leather would be fab, too.

Interesting - I feel like they are too long. They are also cheap and probably clingy as Suz says. And why do so many culottes have so much volume all the way up? I agree this particular pair will probably be orphaned. Back they go!

Just now popping in and letting you know that I love all your TIFF outfits! Way better than these culottes, for sure. I'm done trying to branch out for awhile. It's not like I don't have anything nice to wear see you in a couple of days!

Okay, I WANT to love them. They are just okay. Not a game changer. Not sure what they look like in motion, but not really what I imagine as your style, either. I think of relaxed UWP or professional UWP for you. These are not that.

I do like the idea of leather culottes a lot more.

Yeah these are okay, but only okay.

I think a pair that are less skirt like might be better. And I also think a tad longer because I don't think you want a gap if wearing tall boots.

My first thought is it looks like you're wearing a "grandma" skirt (no offence to actual gmas!). But this might be one of those items that looks better in person when you can see the legs better in motion.

Along the lines of what Angie suggested, I was going to say you need a longer slimmer pair. Otherwise they will just swamp your lower half.
