My turn: Allsaints order

Allsaints sizing is, in the words of Diana, WHACK! I used to have to size up. Now I have two items I had to size down in because of availability and they might still be too big. WTH?

Anyway, here are the items, with and without toppers. They need to work both ways to keep, per Angie's instructions to be able to wear sleeveless items alone!

1. Emi Fressia dress. I think I could size down in this, although if I stood like the model it would fit more like that. I think she has it pinned. Or is this good?

2. This dress is a cool grey-green and a size down from my usual size. I love the neckline and material, and I think it's a keeper but would love input.

3. This black draped dress is also a size down and it is roomy! It reminds me of the EF dress Shannon has, or Deborah's similar dress. Size down again?

4. This sweater is meant to be oversized, but is it too much?

As an IT I feel I can wear the oversized look, but I am quite short and not sure if stature is an issue. ALL FEEDBACK WELCOME!

I also ordered a necklace which I'm pretty sure weighed at least 5 pounds and felt like torture. That is going back.

I love all three dresses on you! Both with and without jackets, they look terrific. The sweater is OK but maybe seems a little more voluminous than I'd like to see, but that just may be a preference thing.

I wish someone would make dresses like the draped ones that would work on me! They look so comfy and bridge into casual wear so well, but I know these would be too short and not flattering on my build. Please keep and wear these so I can enjoy vicariously! ;-D

I like the fit of #1. I think it's meant to look intentionally oversized like this. It doesn't look too big to me.

#2 is a gorgeous design and again the fit looks good to me. It's different colour/tone for you but I think it works. Keep.

#3 is very much like my Metalicus Plaza Drape Dress:) I have both dresses on one of my pinterest boards side by side. I love this dress on you and if it is as comfy as mine, you will wear it all the time:) I am having trouble really seeing the fit on my screen but I think you could try the next size down. It looks potentially too roomy to me.

#4 Love the sweater, and I have been wearing my pretty oversized this year but I am conflicted on this. I have the same issue in that I am petite so I have really get the oversized proprortions right. I would be interested to see this one in the size down.

Deborah, this is very much like your dress from what I've seen. The sleeves are actually asymmetrical too as you can kinda see. I appreciate your feedback as a fellow petite who loves oversized drape. I think I could size down, which would put me 2 sizes down, and it would still be roomy enough.

Janet, there IS a dress like this for you out there. Now that you're wearing A-line skirts, the sky is the limit!

Sadly, the sweater is gone in a size down.

Hmm, I am not sure about the dresses, but the jacket rescues it every single time. They look GREAT with the topper, although I am undecided without. And I am not a fan of the sweater in the last pic. It just doesn't do you justice.

I love all the dresses! I am jealous - I wanted the black dress but it wasn't available in anything close to my regular size.

Agree that the sweater would be better in a size down.

Yeah, the sweater may be too much although I would so wear it. I may size down in the two black dresses and see how that goes - and I have a discount code!

Diana, the black dress is HUGE - I am going down to an AllSaints 2 and I'm usually a 6 or 8 in their tops.

Also, the Emi dress is not THAT lightweight, surprisingly.

Omg don't tempt me. There IS still a 4 available and I'm normally an 8. But I'm not sure about the hips...

There is a LOT of room in the hips, but the hemline is not wide - not tapered but not stretchy either. I'm in a 4 and I don't think the picture shows how roomy it is.

Una, can you style the sweater as you would wear it? I think the oversize is probably fine. But we'll get a better sense in an actual (proposed) outfit.

Hey, I kept my SUPER oversized J. Crew sweater that most people thought was way over the top for me. I just love how it feels, so there!

I love the first dress on you. Am amazed that the pattern does not read as too large, but it doesn't. I also love dress 3. I would like to compare dress 2 in a smaller size if that is possible. They're all great cuts for you and I can see them being complete workhorse items.

Great haul Una! I would personally size down in the sweater for sure. I might size down in the second dress as well, but I would need to compare both sizes. We are Emi twins now!

Dress 2 is a size down - it is actually more fitted than it looks because it has the draped panel overlay but is a sheath dress.

I actually just ordered the other two dresses a size smaller to compare - something has to go back though at these prices. Will style the sweater better and see if it works, otherwise it will go back. When did AS start running so big?

Una, I am only convinced about 1. It looks gorgeous on you and its a great fit. As about dress 2, I am not able to pin point what exactly is off. Like Tanya suggested, a size down would be good to view side by side.

Dress 3 and sweater - I don't think they do justice to your figure. And I really like the oversized trend. Boo that the size down in the sweater is gone

I like the dresses. They do look oversized though, so it will be interesting to see the smaller size on you. The knit reads too big imo but I understand the attraction

Wow--you've done fantastic with this order.

I love the green dress--keep! Size looks perfect, and it's great both ways.

I also really like the freesia dress in the size shown, but it's harder to tell the fit because of the color. My inclination was to vote keep, but it may be worth trying a size down. Also like it with and without the jacket.

The black draped dress looks good, but I would try a smaller size. It does look a little more roomy than necessary, maybe, for the style. Again, it's hard to tell with black in photos. Still, I love the style on you, with and without a topper.

The sweater is terrific. Yes, it's exquisitely roomy, and it will look fab, fab, fab over skinnies. Also looks good with the skirt. The only thing is: can you fit it under a coat for winter?

I don't think I can be objective because I would love #2. And #3. And probably #1 too. Love them with and without jackets. Not so helpful I know.

Hey Una, I think the sweater is all about how you wear it. Three of mine are about that size (I know I am bigger than you) and I think they look really good over a skinny leg and a bit of a heel. The oversized top and the long skinny leg looks really cool and creates a nice proportion. I cannot wear mine with a skirt like you have on in the pic cos the proportions look too squat on me. So what I'm saying is don't make too quick a decision about the sweater, maybe try some other stylings before you decide. And FWIW I don't think the sweater is too long:)

Ps.. Here's the Allsaints dress and mine in the pic. So similar! Of course my figure is somewhat fuller than the model;)

The sweater is my favorite! Love the volume and the way it fits.
I'm not in love with 1 and 2, the assymetry and the way it fits your body, but with the jacket looks much better

I'm drooling over all of these dresses. I think 2 is perfect and am glad you ordered 1 and 3 in a size down. To my eye, they look great with the jacket but slightly big without.

Love number one, including the way it fits, though one size down could be fine also.
Dresses two and three are most interesting to me sans topper. You have to be willing to embrace the voluminous asymmetry though, and I know that's not for everyone. I do see those shapes as terrific on you. When the topper goes on, it works, but both then become a more routine looking dress. Perhaps this appeals due to climate issues and work environment.

If toppers were to be a frequent part of the occasion and the dresses are spendy, maybe one would work. Ah, just read your post about the wish to eliminate one.

The sweater is a great shape, just agree that it is a bit overwhelming.
Have fun trying the different sizes. I like these dresses!
