Well, what didn't get cancelled (bras, underwear) got sent back (more bras, bag.) The only thing I kept was a set of socks! That's my tiniest NAS since I started shopping the sale. I am not sure what that forecasts for my fashion future this year. I guess time will tell!

Honestly, I liked a lot of items at the US sale -- but most I liked were not available on the Canadian side, or not in the colour I liked or in my size. The selection up here was disappointing, even compared with last year.

Well that’s a bummer. Which socks did you get?

I had a couple things cancelled. One came back in stock, the turquoise cashmere sweater, and I reordered it. The other item only came back in stock after the sale ended, the grey sneakers. I’ve been notified a couple times that it’s available, but at full price. Not that I’m bitter, or anything.

I got the Bombas sock pack. I don't have a Find for it, for some reason. Maybe it wasn't at the US sale! I'll check.

Anyway -- as per usual with these "one size fits all" socks, they are too large for me. BUT the sticky bit at the back truly works and keeps them on, they will shrink a bit if I put them in the dryer, and the padding is nice. So I am keeping.

JAileen, doesn't that take the cake? I got a few of those reminders, too. Sorry, Nordstrom! Not going there!

A sad tale of a sale. I doubt it bodes anything for your fashion year--ha! But it may bode ill for Nordstrom's year.

You have a great attitude..Next. Actually I have done well in the past at finding NAS things at the Rack on even bigger sale. You have to wait a month or more, but, I suspect that even more will show up this year.

I wonder why there is such a big difference in the assortment. Could it be that the Canadian side is seeking financial goals that cause risk aversion? Or the US side is demanding risk aversion from the Canadian operation.

It's a good question, Denise. Some products aren't available because there are already exclusivity agreements in place with other retailers -- but that can't be the case for Nordstrom's own lines, or some of the designer stuff. They had SO much less, and even what they had, they had in fewer colours/ sizes.

Our population is a fraction of the US population, so that's part of it. But given that most of these would be online orders and could be mailed (presumably) from anywhere, I don't really understand it. In a non-Covid year, I could just do what I used to do -- get a mailbox across the border and have everything delivered there to try out. I mean, assuming I could find a way to order from the US site. (That used to be easy, but now it is difficult to do because they shunt you right back to the Canadian site if your IP address is in Canada.)

Well, that’s incredibly frustrating! It seems Nordstrom could have a significant untapped market in Canada. Meanwhile, as Sal observed, you have most of your fall/winter clothing budget yet to spend.

Well, it sure does seem like Canadian customers got seriously shortchanged on the NAS this year. I’m hoping it’s a short-lived phenomenon due to pandemic issues rather than a harbinger of a larger trend.

This was my second tiniest NAS, although not quite as tiny as yours. I kept two sweaters and a blouse and that's it...and I'm debating still on one of the sweaters. My tiniest was last year when I bought nothing.

For me, things did sell out and I got frustrated and quit looking, but also it might be that styles are changing and I'm not finding as much that I like. I've always lagged behind trends.

As far as Canada being different...think of all the great ways you are different!

Haha Suz, you were right ... Even less than my one basic t-shirt!! I will say though - comfy socks are essential, so I hope they bring you happy feet!
