I can't believe "Ebo" (as his friends call him) is back to school today... in 5th grade, no less! He carefully picked out his clothes last night and broke with his normal "uniform" of gym shorts and tech tops to wear his best dark slim jeans, a subtly logo'd tee, and of course his coolest skateboarding shoes and favorite sweatshirt (because it's not like the weather has been a thousand degrees or anything!), and his Ellie bracelet... always the bracelet. His grandfather gave him a fresh flat top hair cut, which his friends had to pet when he walked in. He got out of the car and gave me his best "I'm way too cool to be excited" face, and with that we are off to the new school year. I'm not ready for this. Not that he's growing up... I'm just not ready for the homework. (sigh)
