Such helpful insights! I think it's time to rethink my rubric and style description. I've always felt like my look is hard to define: neither RATE nor polished, not exactly boho but also not refined, not edgy but not ladylike or straight modern classic. Your adjectives are helping me find my way.
Organic. Natural. Earthy. Rugged. These are words I've never considered before, but there is some truth to them. I think you've all put a finger on the element in my style that I've never been able to identify. This is giving me a lot to think about...in a good way!
Beth Ann, thank you for putting a name ("natural") to my non-RATE, non-polished aesthetic. I do think there is a modern element to my style...especially lately. And texture, architectural silhouettes, and neutral colors are definitely elements of love for me.
Suz, I'm liking the sound of organic or natural paired with modern minimalism. Organic Modern Minimalist. That could work!
Una, I'm not sure what my twist is. I do love pattern, and I'm becoming more sensitive to shape/cut. So maybe that's the direction I should head. I am trying to learn more about texture, too, and I've pinned many different textures...so there's that. I know for me it probably won't be about color. I love neutrals too much!
Claire, I love refined rugged or Rugged Luxury!
Thanks, Brenda. I've always loved non-traditional jewelry. And I'm glad you shared your observations on texture and boho elements. I know the boho love is still with me...despite my modern direction. And I'm happy to embrace texture...although I think that's something I still have to work on incorporating into my wardrobe.
Sarah, thanks for your observations. Selectively embracing trends as eclectic is an interesting thought. Hm.
Nicole, yes! Scarves, boots, long toppers have long been mainstays of my wardrobe. Even before YLF.
I love a good analysis session!
