I buttered up the BF and got him to snap pics of my spring haul. I've included my thoughts about what to keep vs. return but would sure love to hear yours.
Caveat: there is something weird happening with the lighting in this room, creating a shadow around my legs which adds at least 15 lbs. Not good. I promise that all of these are far more flattering in person!
1: Kate Spade dress. The camera angle (BF was laying in bed) is making the waist look too high but I think it hits properly IRL. I like this with tights for work and without for a fab weekend brunch. The lime color is something I don't have much of in my closet.
2-3: Navy Theory dress. I included the 2nd pic so you can see the draping at the waist which is my favorite part of the dress. I feel like a million bucks in this one and think it will prove highly versatile.
4: Tory Burch faux wrap dress. I really like this one but am almost certain I'll return it--I have several (okay, 4) of this same EXACT dress in different patterns (and made by Issa) in my closet and they just haven't been getting much wear at my new job so I don't feel that I can justify yet another, as lovely as the print on this one is.
5-6: Navy Theory blouse. I would do more in the way of styling IRL, but, again, I fell for the draping on this one. The front panel is silk while the sleeves and back are a soft jersey knit. Something I see being a closet workhorse.
7: Classiques blazer (on sale). This is the only piece that BF flat out did not like--he thought it looked dated and not fashionable enough. It meets my criteria of being a not overly conservative and non-black/grey blazer that I can pair with work pants and skirts but I'd love to get YLF input on this one. Can I do better?
8-9: Kate Spade pants. I LOVE these! No styling for picture purposes (besides my leopard print pumps) and I'm not totally certain I can pull such aggressive pants off at the office but I really like the way they fall. These do seem a tad baggy, especially around the waist, but I fear the size down could be fitted (NOT what I want), so if these get approval, I would have them taken in a tad.
Thanks for looking!!
