New stuff, just finished.

Shorts - I'm not sure if I like these or not. Are they too baggy? (they fit nicely in the waist and hips, but are the legs to wide?) Are they too short? If they're okay, are they worth duplicating, I bought a dark wash lightweight denim when I bought the pattern to make another pair, but I'm not sure if I want to now.

and I made a gorgeously soft blanket for a friend's little girl's first birthday, but I didn't get a picture of it because I just barely got it done in time for the party.

I would try to make the short legs a bit more fitted - I think the length is fine, there's just too much fabric for your thin legs!

I love the dress and the bag! Good job! I might copy the dress... it's so cute!

You're very clever to sew. What motivates you to sew?

I really like the way the dress tuned out! The self fabric top portion looks great.

I vote taper the shorts a little more for a sleeker look.

I'm sure your Mum will love the bag! Each stitch was sewn with love and that's hard to beat :0)

I think I will take in the legs a little more when we get home (they're packed right now for our amusement park trip).

Sewing is a creative outlet and also my "me" time. I started sewing for the kids (dresses for the Princess and a Halloween costumes), but I'm starting to sew for myself some, too, just because it's nice to do something for myself and I love having one-of-a kind pieces.

I agree about the shorts, length looks fine but too baggy. The dress came out nice. The bag is lovely too. That is awesome that you can make all these pieces yourself.

Dusty - the shorts look GREAT...I can see that with slight tailoring, they will be fab. Does your fabric have stretch? Just keep that in mind when tapering the legs, and perhaps add a slit on the side for walking/sitting ease if necessary (why can't I think of the right term for that? ha).

What's the pattern? How's the rise in the back?
