Wanted to share this link since I know Uniqlo is new to the U.S. and may not be in your city.
I first discovered the featherweight down jackets and vest when I was in Tokyo a few years ago. Since that time I've seen many imitations and iterations, but this is the original.
Two years ago I visited the New York City flagship store and bought some more down. It's so reasonable, layerable, and packable. Most of these items just roll into a ball and can be stuffed into the pouch they come with.
Here in socal, I find I most often wear the vest, so I plan on buying a few more for winter layering. The coats you see can also be layered under trenches and other coats you already own.
