I have not made a pre-sale appointment and probably will not be able to.
Anyways I texted my salesperson and asked what she recommended.
Only one was in the catalog, Vince high-top skater sneakers.
Others I couldn't find in the catalog.
Veda Suede Jacket and Rebecca Taylor grey fringe cardigan.

I'm kinda over leather jackets and looking at Veda's previous offerings, it probably isn't different enough for me.
I have plenty of sneakers and have heard mixed reviews in general about Vince shoes.
The grey fringe cardigan is intriguing though.

It is really hard to comment on items without pictures so I can't imagine trying to shop for them without a visual. It doesn't sound like you are too enthused by the process Anna.

Yeah, it doesn't sound like you are too into it this year. I think it may be worth looking just to see if something unexpected catches your eye, but it's never a bad thing to walk away from a sale with a few dollars still in your wallet, as long as there's nothing you *need.* I'm going to try to check it out during a pre-selection day before I go out of town next week, but there is nothing I'm itching for at the moment. I wouldn't mind some fresh denim or a pair of tall boots, but so far I've seen nothing new coming down the pike in Nordstrom's offerings that looks different from what I have. I am keeping my eye out for a sweater or top in forest green, but I'm going to be really picky.

I think the major problem is that my life is in such upheaval right now I can't plan.
I know you are not supposed to shop for your fantasy life, but right now I have no idea what will happen with my life.

ETA I have a tentative appointment next Wednesday.

Anna- glad you have an appointment just to poke around and contemplate the "little stuff". It can be a break from the big stuff. When I am in flux, sometimes a pick me up can come in the form of something I could enjoy regardless of exactly what may happen next. I wear a watch and carry a bag daily, so they are often a good starting point. Thinking of you and wishing you the best with all you are navigating.

I came over here to peek at what you were into. Going to go search for that grey fringe cardigan online now.

I just looked through the website, even though i'm all pregnant right now so i'm kind of limited lol. I found 3 things that could work and appeal to me, but i don't know if they're really unique enough to warrant a Nordstrom's price tag, even on sale. I'm pretty sure i saw the Steve Madden boots i liked at H&M for $25 last year and they're both "vegan" leather. >_>

I am kind of digging the $80 leather zip up wedge Chucks over the Vince sneaks. Maybe I've seen too much of the Vince sneaks over the past year, though.

Curious if anyone else feels like the fringe and poncho thing is being drawn out too long as a "new" trend?

OK the first one is the Rebecca Taylor fringe cardigan. I really like the detail on the upper back, it reminds of Raquel Allegra. I think I will be checking that out.
The Veda suede jacket looks gorgeous, but is probably too similar to my chocolate suede Alexander Wang moto. Besides I don't feel like spending that kind of money on a style I have lots of in my closet.
The Vince sneaker is cool, but I have my taupe Celine high-tops which are similar.
I found this faux fur coat which is really similar to the Shrimps faux fur jackets that were all over the street style pics last year. I have a faux fur leopard jacket already that I find really hard to wear. Definitely a fall/winter item, but not warm at all.
This denim TopShop coat is intriguing.
Debating the leather backpacks, but I'm not thrilled with the colors available. I'll need to see them in person, especially how they open

Those pics all seem very you, but I can see how they would come too close to duplicating things you already have.

I eyed that RM backpack online in the burgundy, but decided against it. I'd like a burgundy bag, but it will be hard to find another backpack I love as much as my cobalt one.

The fringe cardi is my favorite thing in the whole sale but I can't afford it even with the sale. Enjoy your appointment - it's fun just to look.

I got the Rebecca Minkoff backpack in ash (light gray). I'm so excited, because I've been wanting a backpack style bag, in a color other than black, and with an opening that would work for me. This one is just right on all counts. My salesperson pointed out to me that the swivel clip can be clipped at top rather than at bottom, too, if you want to cover up the top zipper (say, walking around town).
