Pinterest Board (style analysis?)

I've been keeping a Pinterest aspirational fashion board for about a year now. Periodically I review it and edit it down to 50 images that most represent where I want to be with my style. Today I did a little analysis of the 50 images...

-28 images are 'body con' with close vs loose fitting garments (ex: 28 t-shirts or sweaters vs 9 button downs)

-28 trouser outfits

-11 trousers rolled to reveal the ankle\

-11 white trousers

-5 classic jackets

-5 beige trench coalts

-12 skirts/dresses

-7 striped tops

-a navy, black, white, grey, cognac palate dominates

-little pattern (animal print), or colour-some red, yellow, green

-mixed med (leather, lace with fabric)

In some ways, this is accurate, but IRL I probably wear dresses and skirts much more, and I DO wear more colour, especially in summer.

I would be interested to learn what you think. I haven't posted WIW's much recently due to poor photo conditions/opportunities, but does it seem that I am moving in the direction of my sartorial objectives?

Runcarla, that is a great idea to maintain your board like you do. And I hadn't thought of creating a fantasy board. I looked back over some of your WIWs, and it seems like the J Crew embroidered merino sweater is a real-life way of incorporating some of your rich, ornamental fantasy pieces. I hadn't thought of incorporating fantasy stuff into my normal wear like that.

I will be honest and say that I don't feel that I know your style well enough to comment on whether you are moving in the direction of your objectives. I will say that on the WIWs that I looked at where you posted your inspiration pics, some of the inspirations had metallic or shiny elements (usually jewelry) that were not present in your own version. I don't see much jewelry on your Pinterest board, however. Are accessories that impart a metallic shine (whether it be shoes, jewelry, or a scarf with metallics) something that you wish to exclude? Or is that something you want to consider adding?

I did see some animal print in your WIWs, but I don't remember seeing a lot of stripes. I think that stripes would be a great place to start, as there should be a lot of striped tops out for spring. Or maybe you have them but they just haven't shown up in a WIW?

I really enjoyed your boards!!! It makes me want to try to get back to Pinterest. I always peter out...too much work.

I love your pinterest board .... Pinning some for myself! You are doing a great exercise Runcarla. I too maintain a pinterest board. But mostly of styles that I could recreate with existing items. I am afraid I can't be of more help as I suck at analysis! But I think knowing where to head is a good start
