I am so very sorry, Inge. Condolences to you and your family. I am sure he treasured having you by his side.

I lost my dear FIL 5 months ago. We had dinner with him the night before to celebrate hubby's birthday. Dad had been slowing down the past couple of years, but nothing major to make us think that his time would come sooner than later. He died in his sleep the morning of his 79th birthday. Hubby and I started dating when I was 18, so FIL was truly like a second dad to me and he made sure to divide his time between two states to be involved in the lives of his children and grandkids. I miss him very much.

Death is so hard to deal with whether it's after a long battle or suddenly. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Inge.

I'm so sorry Inge. I lost my dad when I was 20 and not a day goes by when I don't think of him. You will have some lovely memories of your dear papa. Take care of yourself.

My own father was like that, and I miss him every day. I know that nothing can ease the pain of missing and the hole in your heart that can never be filled. I'm so sorry, Inge. Please do tell us more about him when you feel like it. I still miss my dad who came from a simple farm family but had great dreams. We are still finding out about things he did that we didn't know about.

Inge: My heart goes out to you, as you say goodbye to your beloved Papa. I pray and wish for you spring walks, where the sun is warm, and the gentle breeze is warm, a good friend to walk beside you and make you a fine cup of tea, and the time to mourn and remember with people who loved and cherished your father.
