my pants choices now

always trying

thinking fall and no more summer clothes, . Am finding that I am liking cargo pants and chinos better than jeans. I will probably get a pair or two of new jeans during the fall/ winter as they are so practical. But am finding I am enjoying wearing my cargo, utility ,and chinos more.

Interesting- I prefer cargos in summer especially when I don’t want to carry bag. Those pockets can hold sunglasses and cellphone.

I have been thinking the same. This is a real evolution for me, as I’ve stuck with jeans for casual weekend wear for years. (I don’t like wearing denim to work- not a dress code issue, just personal preference.) But, I can’t seem to get these cargo pants out of my mind, and have been pondering Angie’s “utility pretty” styling ideas.

I have two pair of cargo pants that are definitely summer wear...cropped and lighter weight than jeans. When the days get cooler I like my heavy weight jeans and even wool slacks (hope to find some this year). Chinos ..So far a couple of colored ones but also for spring and summer as they are ankle pants. Most chinos give me baggy butt.
What I am not feeling is low waist skinnies. I want to find mid to high waist straights and culottes.

In winter I wear ponte knits, and if I can find them, fine wale corduroy pants. However, my climate doesn't get that cold.

I do have cropped a pair or two of utility? cargo? pants I wear in summer.

Barbara Diane, some potential corduroy sources:

Garnet Hill usually carries fine wale corduroy pants in the winter season. They have been very skinny jeans so far but maybe something wider is in the works.

Also Victoria’s Secret online. The one’s I got from VS didn’t stand up well to normal washing, so bear that in mind. Possible that with delicate washing they would be good.

Jjill and WHBM hasn’t done corduroy in recent years, but their old corduroy was outstanding and I dearly wish that they would bring it back.
