She is pretty old at 16 and suddenly stopped eating this past week. She's always been a huge glutton. I just brought her to the vet yesterday, they did an x-ray and it turns out she has a lot of fluid both in and around her lungs. This is from heart failure, the price of aging. They gave her a diuretic and if she's going to respond to it, it should be by tomorrow or Monday at the latest. So far I don't see much difference; her breathing still seems rattle-y and she hasn't eaten a bite, though she drinks and gets around a little.

I'm heartbroken, of course. We've had her for maybe twelve years. She's not the most playful kitty (by the way, my daughter named her Kitty), but she is so sweet and friendly. Kind of like a dog. All my friends love her.
