There is a certain shade of brown -- chocolate with a hint of wine, say -- that I cannot stop seeing. This colour is completely absent from my wardrobe at the moment, and I can only guess that's because it's been so absent from retail for the past decade. I do have a pair of boots in a very dark burgundy that leans towards this shade, especially now that they're lightening up with a year's worth of wear. Also, a slightly lighter toned burgundy bag. It's a very good colour on me, because it picks up the red tones in my very dark hair and is a good contrasting shade for blue eyes. It has warmth without too much yellow/orange, and more depth than a standard burgundy (also less preppy). I'm excited to pair this colour with faded blacks and tweedy greys, and also with denim, especially lighter washes, all of which I have. Am I crazy for wanting to add every single piece below (a gear parka, a gear tee, a casual tee, a cardi, and a cocoon coat)? Is anyone else as excited by this "mahogany" colour as I am?
