The wedding was in the late afternoon outdoors, in a lovely rural location. It was probably the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever been to, in terms of the actual location, but also how personal and emotional it was. I’m very glad we went.
The forecast was for partly sunny with a high in the 60s. I went through many possible outfits, ordering dresses, jackets, and even shoes. I ended up wearing a dress I’ve had for over ten years, from Talbots. The only new item was the jacket, from Nordstrom Rack. The shoes were a year or two old, from Franco Sarto. The bag is vintage Coach. I also brought a Pendleton duffle coat that I bought in NAS six years ago, and ended up putting it on when the sun went down.
We took the dress, my husband’s blazer and another coat to the dry cleaner beforehand, and when we went to pick them up, they couldn’t find them!!! I just knew this would happen, and had a Plan B, but I didn’t like my backup outfit as much. Eventually they found our things. Whew!
The other thing was the day before the wedding, one of my teeth started to hurt. I never mentioned it to anyone, but it hurt like mad. After we got home, I went to the dentist and was referred for a root canal which I had yesterday. It’s not as fun as it sounds.
