My non-NAS recent fails - YouLookFab Forum

As I mentioned on Angie's latest NAS report, I am in an "adding" mode to fill too many wardrobe holes created by several years of subtracting.

Recent returns or exchanges, all pictured below:

Love this but mine is too small - will likely exchange but haven't quite decided. Would I wear the larger size knowing it would likely be a relentless task to keep it clean?

Bass Weejun Whitney loafer. Had a feeling the leather on these would be stiff, painful, unforgiving, and heel-rubbing and I was not wrong.

Returned FIVE pairs of NYDJ jeans recently: four pure white Ellison Straights and one Brigitte Wide Leg in Marian Annabella (an Angie pic). My smaller size did arrive; will model today.

Always a challenge shopping online, so tough to judge whether something will work out or not. Those 2 tone loafers look fab, but loafers are so tricky to shop for, like you said they are often too stiff and unforgiving or they slip off easily.
Glad one pair of NYDJs has worked out for you. Looking forward to seeing them modelled.

Jeans-so hard to shop for, so much trial and error. And honestly even when I find a really good pair they often require so alterations to be perfect.
If you like a loafer look I’d look for brands that do a soft leather or driver

Bummer! I love the way loafers look, especially the classic Penny style such as you ordered, but they always rub my heels. Put those on the no buy list, at least for me.

So guess what happened today. I tried on the Brigittes with my phone in hand to post a photo and they are STILL too large.

I may give up, since in the meantime I have chopped off a pair of jeans I had two of and reordered the white NYDJs. I might be sorted for jeans now, except still on the prowl for black ones.

Is it just the waist that too big? That can be altered, if so.

NYDJ always requires going down a size or two. Since I generally require even Petites to be shortened, I vacillate between needing/buying Regular vs Petite sizing.

FWIW, I can't wear loafers or other slip-on flats so I decided to try loafer mules. We shall see and we shall see. All three below are at different price points. Haven't seen any two-tone ones.

NYDJ has always touted their "go one size smaller!" fits but this level of sizing seems completely off the hook.

Angie, you're so right. That could be done very easily. I doubt very much the seat fits either. Maybe this is just not the pair for me?

Sizing is so frustrating. My sympathies!

My mistake is these boots. Oh how I love how they look. Oh how I hate how hard they are to get on and off. Almost impossible. I purchased second hand and will donate - I don’t have a wide foot but these would suit a very low volume foot…..

Bijou, my thought exactly! I do think it's impractical for me. Haven't actually boxed that one up for return, however, so I may consider one size up.

I don't know, I think you could pull off the KL collar beautifully. But practically - well I see your point. Hope the jeans work out in the smaller size.

For the record, on the KL collar, I did initiate the return and reordered it in a larger size. Added a pair of black jeans - a wardrobe hole for me - that were 50% off.

But yes, I do love them, no sales goggles.

Update: Got the new collar and am keeping. Bit of a fuss to get it on but once it's on I love the look!
