My Need in Wardrobe list - YouLookFab Forum

Been on a major closet overhaul in last 6 weeks. During last couple of years I have been a manager in company with a uniform of sorts so all my previous work clothes had mostly gone unworn even though my casual wear had been stepped up.

After spending some time catching up with YLF and analysis of the closet, here is my (pretty short!) list to fill some holes in wardrobe. The list is really for me to use - I figure if I put it in black and white, I may stick to it.

Cobalt Blue handbag - fairly indulgent since I still have too many bags but I love a bright pop of color and bright blue/teal and turquoise have been faves for a long time.
Animal Print or other print flat.
Animal Print scarf - surprisingly hard to find
Flat boots - replacement ( I know season is nearly over)
Chambray/Denim shirt
Striped button down shirt
Chunky gold chain (costume) for layering with some beaded necklaces

Just started a job search so I anticipate thinning through closet again as I am appreciating having room to see everything

Good on you for getting through the closet but being SO focused with your list. Its interesting that when you really analyse it its often WOW pieces we need, and many a couple of replacements of faves. Hope you find the scarf!

Nice list. I agree with you on the animal print scarf...surprisingly hard to find. Love your colbalt blue purse item...that practically goes with anything!

I just have to add two more things (consulted a handwritten list I had in notebook):

A white/color blocked or primarily white shoe (I am fussy on this because i think my feet look too large in white shoes).
Replacement for current white handbag. I love the shape and contrasting black stitching on my current model but it was a heavily discounted xoxo model and i think it deserves an upgrade from vinyl patent to a quality leather. I have a feeling that will be a "know it when I see it" purchase.

Going through some more items to take to consignment - whatever i make there, I can spend in shop (they do get some great items) or use for my "list".

I always love these want/need/wish lists. Very inspiring, and often quite tempting too:-)

Zara and H&M often have animal print scarves. I love the idea of a colour-blocked shoe as well, Christie Anne. Good luck with the job search and closet overhaul!

Good luck with the job search, Christieanne! I'm seeing lots of animal print flats and chambray shirts in the stores, so you should have plenty of options there. Hopefully, you'll be able to score some great flat boots on sale. I want a cobalt bag, too!

Less than a week later - updating again with several finds:

Animal Print shoe - Had a "duh" moment when I realized a have a great one from Ellen Tracy, pointy toe camel/gray/black python mix. But added a leopard spot ballet flat from Payless as it has a lot of brown which I need. Still want a giraffe print but maybe that will surprise me sometime.
Animal Print scarf - Forever 21. Classic leopard spots for $10.
White Shoes - Payless. White ballet flat with black trim and black toe.
Flat boot - Kenneth Cole Reaction moto style in black - $50 at Macy's!

I think the rest wil happen lurking at consignment although their is a great blue bag at jcrew right now. I hear it is sold out (and it isn't exactly the blue I want).

I also threw in a yellow beaded necklace (from long ago want list) and kelly green short coat from target
