Hello all,

Here's a quick round-up of what I purchased this year (minus the VC faux wrap tops I posted a few days ago).

No pics of my head because I worked from home today and didn't put on make-up.

The two big-ticket items for me were shoes -- AGL wedges and Munro booties. I know these will both be worn hundreds of times so it will be worth it. The Hudson jeans are also pricey for me, but… I think I want them. Do they look roomy enough? They feel good. I am working on weight loss so they should get slouchier.

Thoughts on all the items are appreciated. I am unsure about the Kenneth Cole cardigan and am leaning towards returning… it doesn't seem flattering enough. Thoughts?

The Zella hoodie is just for fun. I love the color!

Hi Hudson twin! *waves* I'm not sure that "skinny jeans" and
"roomy" can be used in the same sentence! haha I guess the new trend
is to size up to make "slouchy" skinnies? I think your Hudsons look
fantastic on you as is - not slouchy, but absolutely not "painted on."
(Congrats on your continued weight loss, btw, it really shows and you
look wonderful! You are inspiring me to get back in the gym to get
stronger and healthier...I have been slacking off big time.)

Also love the wedges and booties! Are both they super comfy?

Love the wedges and booties! Which size did you get in AGL wedges? I have tried this brand several times and it always felt very snug. This time I saw size 43 and though maybe it was 42 before which is not really 12? I have ordered booties in 43 and hope they fit better.
I think it is completely fine to splurge on comfortable and stylish footwear (especially with our hard-to-find-size) so you did good!
Cardigan looks fine but I am so off the cardigans it is hard for me to judge
Jeans seem to fit well but I cannot see well on the screen.

MPJ - Glad to hear the jeans don't look painted on. And thanks so much for noticing my weight loss… taking these pics has been really hard because I don't see any changes in the photos, but the scale tells me I've lost weight. It's good that someone sees it!

Sveta, definitely size 43. I never trust that 42 = 12. In my experience 43 = 12. The wedges are very soft and comfy, and fit my foot nicely. I know these will be work-horse biz casual shoes for me. I usually buy Cole Haan wedges at NAS, but this year they didn't make them in size 12! But I think I like the AGL ones even better… more sophisticated. And I hear you on the cardigan… I bought it because I loved it on Suz, but I'm not 100% loving it on me…

Sveta, I am usually a 9 and liked the 40 best in the AGL wedges. So I think I agree that 42 is not a 12 in this brand. :T

Marianna, I love all your splurge choices. Hudson jeans seem to be a universal man favorite too, I keep hearing that from my clients. I think you could do without the cardi and count that $ toward the other big ticket items.

Firecracker (Sharan)

The shoes and booties are fab. They look polished yet versatile--can dress them up pretty much or dress them down. I vote keep. I have AGLs and Munros in similar but not these exact styles, and I do find I wear them a lot--so they have been worth the money in my experience.

The jeans are great on you. I agree they don't look too tight. If they make you feel fabulous, they are worth a little extra money. I will say, though, that if your weight is on the downward trend, you might go for less expensive jeans now and put out more bucks later for others when you reach your target. Just a thought. We do need to dress the body we are in today, so these are absolutely fine from that perspective! And maybe you'd like them slouchy later, too.

The cardigan isn't conventionally flattering, no. But it looks good, and it's a little edgy looking. If you're on the fence about it, think about whether you'd miss it if you take it back.

The jeans are terrific. Enjoy! I also like the shoes and booties and the top.

And I was so excited to see we might be sweater twins!! But if you don't like it on you, definitely send it back. I think the angle of this photo is making it appear less flattering than I suspect it is IRL.

Do you have a broad or a narrow shoulder line?

I love those jeans on you. The cardigan works but it may not be the look your after. The shoes look great. I love the color on the hoodie. Great haul and the puppies are adorable.

I have to say that I really like this cardi. It's different and edgy , and I think all that's throwing it off here is the scrunched up bottom of the jeans. My eye wants to see a cleaner finished bottom - and maybe all you have to do is wear those jeans (which look great on you) tucked into riding boots when you wear this sweater. Let the movement of the sweater, even unzip those pieces a bit, be the standout. I like it all!

You look terrific, Marianna! The jeans are very flattering! I have the Munros in the the red suede from last year and love them!

As for the cardi. I don't think that white/near white photographs very well -- I imagine it looks better in motion. Still, unless you have no sweaters, stick to what you love!

Love the wedges and booties. (I have the booties and the AGL flats) The jeans are a good fit and I guess I am the only one that likes the cardigan. It has a bit of an edge and would look great with leggings and boots this fall. I have the back cardigan and love the comfort factor. The weight loss is very noticeable

Hi Marianna! You look amazing! I would keep the KC cardi - it looks flattering to me, and seems so practical for our climate. Everything here looks like a winner. Must be fun to shop as a customer and not an employee, huh?

Firecracker - great thoughts. I had debated about waiting until my weight stabilized to purchase expensive jeans, but I am losing very slowly, and these jeans feel like they could carry me through some weight loss and still look fine. I can only wear jeans on Fridays and weekends, so I do need to give the denim purchase some more though.

Suz - I believe my shoulder line is narrow. What about yours? I'm still undecided on the sweater. I like the idea, but I think I prefer straighter silhouettes on myself. I LOVED it on you though (thus the reason for the purchase!)

Lisa - interesting thoughts on the scrunching. I will try the cardi with riding boots and see if it changes the look.

Laura, I miss the discount, but it feels SOOOO good to be a customer and not an employee. Wouldn't trade it for anything!

Marianna, then I would go back to my original impulse, which is that a pair of jeans that makes you feel fabulous is worth a little extra money. I ended up buying two pairs this NAS with that thought in mind--one Hudson, one Kut from the Kloth.
