It's been a while since I've posted, though I do stop by every now and then to see how fab everyone is! I took a break from actively participating in the forum because I found it hard to control impulse buying (and the inevitable returning). But I gave free reign to my impulses during NAS!

Last year, I used the NAS to stock up on much-needed basics and work clothes. This year I was able to splurge on some nicer items.

Here's what I've ordered (I use ebates and wanted to get cash back, though I did try some items on in the store):

1. Smythe black blazer. Adore it! I'm usually a 4 but sized up to 8 to layer underneath. It's gorgeous.

2. Stuart Weitzman short boots. Loved the color, fit, and style. I've been looking for a replacement for similar boots from Lands End (yes, you read that right!) that I have loved and worn to pieces.

3. DvF lace skirt. Got the navy in a 6. Hits the low knee on me, but it's just lovely.

4. Theory sweater. I got this in both colors. White for versatility and cranberry to duplicate a sweater my late mother knitted for me. Sized up to M for slouchy oversized fit.

5. Autumn Cashmere cardigan in grey. It's so soft and cozy! Not crazy about the waterfall look in front though....still debating this one.

6. Aquatalia Obsession boots. I have been searching high and low for flat black boots to fit my 13" calves, and this pair did the trick. Pricey but worth it for the fit.

7. Ivanka pumps. These looked fun, and I'm hoping they'll fit and work for what I have in mind.

8. Hinge lace herringbone sweater. My 10-year old found this and I loved it. It's not something I would have picked, but I'm so glad she did!

9. Michael Kors tote bag in grey. Looked like a versatile basic. I also tried the brown Brahmin satchel in store, but didn't like the color in the middle part (pinkish tone).

10. Boucle dress. Loved the color scheme and so I thought I'd give it a try. Fingers crossed it works.

11. Sam Edelman pumps. Total wildcard for me. Not sure how I might style these. I will have to think hard before I decide to keep them.

Some items that I tried and rejected:
Rag & Bone knit moto. The sleeves were way too long...only the tip of my thumb showed. Plus I wasn't in love with the look. I tried a small.

Halogen brown leather and suede moto jacket. Ill fitting on my short-waist. Sigh.

Paul Green Allison boot in grey suede. I see that Jenava got these in black. I was very tempted, but the Stuart Weitzmans stole my heart and I couldn't justify both. These are sleek and stylish. 2 thumbs up.

Wildfox Mauve Dots pullover. Would have bought this one except for the extremely long sleeves. Would have had to fold the cuffs over at least twice! Lovely soft material.

Joie lace trim sweater. Very boxy fit on me, and the color of the lace looked off to my eye.
