Here's what I bought today at early access for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I've gathered the items in Finds below, and all came home with me except the Eileen Fisher cropped pants, which weren't available at the store; they are on order.
I tried most things on again at home, to show you all. Here are the photos; NAS items are in bold.
1-3: Dark red crossover sweater (Free People), with brown wool cropped pants (made by me) and brown metallic pointy toe booties (Donald J. Pliner); and with dusty olive cargo pants (made by me) and pewter metallic hightop sneakers (Paul Green).
4-6: Red and black print ruffle-hem open-back tunic (Free People), with cropped flares (Mother), black platform peep-toe sling-backs (Munro), and black denim cropped moto (Free People).
7-11: teal sleeveless mock-neck ruched-side dress (Halogen), with pewter metallic cut-out peep-toe booties (Paul Green); with black leggings, teal plaid long cardigan (Halogen) and black flat booties (Munro); and with charcoal mesh-knit long vest (Caslon) and black platform peep-toe slingbacks (Munro).
12-13: burgundy skinnies (Loft), burgundy and gray plaid wool gauze peasant blouse (made by me), charcoal mesh-knit long vest (Caslon), and burgundy patent oxfords (AGL), and same outfit with black pointy toe block-heel booties (Steve Madden).
Not pictured: olive mesh-knit long vest (Caslon); gunmetal filigree earrings (Kendra Scott); charcoal cropped wide-leg pants (Eileen Fisher), undies (Hanky Panky) and camisoles (Nordstrom).
I feel like I was pretty picky this year; I wanted to exercise some restraint, and I think I did. I didn't have any real needs but wanted to get some new things for fun.
I bought the body-con dress specifically to go with the long teal plaid cardigan that I've had for a couple of seasons and really like. It will be nice to have a new piece to wear with the cardigan.
The Free People open-back tunic feels different for me, with its demure front and risque back. I tried it on with a lace bralette, suggested by the SA, but I decided a camisole is as racy as I'm going to get with it.
The burgundy oxfords are so pretty, a gorgeous color, and super comfy. I had to have them, even though they are so unnecessary. I refrained from even trying on the Paul Green loafers--I am congratulating myself, because I know from past experience that I rarely wear loafers. I have one pair in my closet now, and that is plenty.
Thanks for looking! What do you think: How did I do?
